Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance Review

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, horrible movie? Not quite. Great movie? No. I'm gonna have to give the film 2 out 5 Flaming Skulls.

First I want to say I hate these "it works as a sequel, but we're gonna change their origin sightly in a quick flashback" crap, they did it before in Incredible Hulk and Punisher: War Zone, what the hell is with that? You think from the directing team of Crank you'd have a great dark comedy action movie with Ghost Rider replacing Jason Statham, instead we get a lot of boring "story-setting" talking either while sitting around or driving with the occasional Ghost Rider fight. If your going in to this thinking at least it's got zany Nic Cage at he's zaniest, sorry he's actually pretty mild and tamed down this time around.

I will say Ghost Rider's new design is pretty awesome, really close to he's look in the Road to Damnation mini-series, great touches on the burnt jacket and charred skull. I really wish they gave Ghost Rider more to do then just vaporize guys with a whip of he's chain, any other fiery dispatchment was seen in the trailers, no surprise take downs, I really missed the penance stare and Hellfire shotgun.

That's bad when a badly handled "sequel" makes the not so well accepted original look damn near like The Dark Knight or X2 in comparison. What didn't help was there was no memorable threatening or believable pure evil villain, Roarke never spoke or gave off the attitude of someone who is suppose to the all evil Prince of Lies & Darkness, and Blackout was no challenge whatsoever and easily killed, he was just there to have a villain from the comics. I really think this movie was made because Sony just wanted to make some money before they lost the rights to Ghost Rider, and Cage wanted to play he's favorite characters one last time even if it was for a lower budget and rushed script.

DC Universe Classics Series 20 Sinestro Review

DC Universe Classics Series 20 also gave us another long awaited redo in Sinestro, who's first figure came out back in Classics Series 3 but Mattel for some reason made him on a smaller buck more suited for a teenager body-type causing him to be a head shorter then all their other figures. 4 years, and 17 waves of figures later we finally have a Sinestro who can proudly face off against Hal Jordan on our shelves eye to eye, using the the tall and slender body first used for Deadman in Series 11. The Sinestro here from series 20 is in he's Sinestro Corps uniform, but don't worry if you also want him in classic black and blue costume that figure came out in a Green Lantern Vs. Sinestro 2-Pack.

New body parts unique to him are he's head, collar, forearms, belt, and feet, which I think he's belt and collar could of been handled a bit better, the collar used I think portray he's original costume's collar better, but for he's Corps uniform's high and tight collar I believe a painted on design would of looked better. The design of he's costume's center stripe goes down to he's crotch, so they painted the stripe over the belt, there is suppose to be a gap in the belt there but instead there is a flat black area which I think could of been cut out to not have that standing out bump. Sinestro comes with a yellow Power Battery which I'm glad they gave him the Lantern shaped one instead the awful Fear symbol shaped one that came with he's original figure that I don't think I ever saw in the comics, and the head of this series's Nekron collect-n-connect figure.

This is the Sinestro DC Universe Classics collectors have been waiting for, so if you been waiting to replace the the previous height impaired former guardian of Sector 1417, he is here. I highly recommend him to any Green Lantern fan to have Hal's nemesis, and of course lead he's Corps if you have them. You know I hope they repaint this figure and give us Green Lantern Sinestro as he looks currently in the comics.

Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean PV

New Nirvash looks great, a little dark looking for the series hero LFO, but we know it'll eventually get repainted in more heroic colors. Promotional art has shown the main character Ao's is green, but in this trailer it's brown, so I wonder if something happens in the first coupe episodes that changes it. Can't wait to see who the new enemy is, and to see what characters from the previous series show up.

Toy Fair 2012 Highlights

The 2012 Toy Fair happened over the weekend, some new figures were shown, and some new info released, but nothing too surprising unfortunately. Let's see what my personal highlights were:

Marvel Legends: Series 3 U.S. Agent and Blade

U.S. Agent is looking to be mostly a repaint of Bucky Cap from series 2 with a new head and added on gauntlets to create the longer gloves, he even shares the same repainted weapons as well, but is still an amazing long waited for figure I can't wait to own. Blade on the other hand really doesn't impress me much, a new head on Ultimate Nick Fury's body with Winter Soldier's vest, come on Hasbro, they got he's current mustache right, but he should have strips of hair on he's head, not be completely bald, and also the red on the inside of the jacket would look better if it didn't also go up the collar. It seems Trenchcoat Punisher is gonna be the running change for Blade, and that Mystique will also be in series, and her running change will be Moonstar.

Marvel Universe: Angel and Nova

Hasbro showed off most of their single carded figures coming out in 2012, I'm excited for a lot of them especially the new molds of Hulk and Punisher. Out of the previously unseen series 4 figures, Angel and Nova are the real stand outs. Interesting news about a Death's Head figure coming, perhaps one day I'll my Death's Head II.

Avengers 3.75 In. Figures: Ultimate Thor and Ultimate Hawkeye

Alot of the 3 3/4 scale figures for the Avengers movie look to be re-releases of Cap, Iron Man, and Thor from their previous lines mixed with a few new molds for the new costumes and characters. The ones I will be looking forward to buying are the Comic Series figures, shown so far are Ultimate Thor and Ultimate Hawkeye to add to our 3 3/4 scale Ultimates team. Hopefully the Comics Series will also have new Avengers and villains not made in the Marvel Universe line yet.

Marvel Select: Ultron

ULTRON! Finally Ultron in he's most wanted classic form. Another Marvel Select must have that Marvel Legends never did right.

DC Universe Signature Collection Rocket Red and Poison Ivy

Mattel showed off more figures for their online purchase only DC Signature Collection, I'm personally excited for Rocket Red to add to my Justice League International team, and Poison Ivy, an essential for Batman's Rogue Gallery. Also shown was Black Mask, Mirror Master and Platinum, Mirror Master is cool to add a Flash villain, but I would of preferred Black Mask with no suit jacket on, just a white long sleeve shirt with the arms rolled up. All Star Series 2 New 52 Flash was revealed, first I don't entirely like he's new costume, and two, I feel those yellow lines shouldn't be painted on him, it works a comic art dynamic, but not as a permanent painted in detail.

Play Arts Kai: Mass Effect 3

Hell Yeah! I'll definitely want that Commander Shepard. Thank you Play Arts for getting the rights to Mass Effect.

Playmates: Classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Can not wait to see these in the stores, these are an absolute must have for any TMNT fan, especially for us that grew up with the original cartoon and action figures. Awesome homage to the original blister package, high foot Playmates.

DC Universe Classics Green Lantern Review

I have been wanting this Green Lantern figure for a long time, he first came out as a Toys'R'Us exclusive in mid-2010, never came across him, and wasn't gonna cave and get him off-line for more then twice retail. I did almost buy the Green Lantern Vs. Zodac DC Vs. MotU 2-pack to get him, but then I found Modern Hal was packed in DC Universe Classics Series 20 cases on Big Bad Toy Store, I couldn't press add to cart quick enough. The only difference between this Hal and the TRU exclusive is this release doesn't come with a Power Battery accessory, WTH Mattel?

First off, pics of this guy does not do him enough justice, he is stunning in hand thanks he's paint job, which is all a perfectly sheens thanks he's metallic green, glossy black, and pearl white. My #1 obsessive attractor for this figure was this is Hal in he's modern version of he's Green Lantern uniform, which major difference from he's pre-ressurection costume is the redesign of the central green area on he's torso now stops at a point on he's waist line and not encompassing he's crotch area to make Super-Hero trunks, so to speak. As I said before this GL didn't come with a ~~should of been obvious Mattel~~ Power Battery, which I think if he doesn't come with a Power Battery then he should at least come with a Construct Weapon, but no, nothing at all, not even one of those blue figure stands, if it were up to me every Green Lantern would come with a Power Battery and a Construct.

If you don't have a DCUC Green Lantern, get this one. If you collect DC Universe Classics, get this guy. If you love Green Lantern, get this Hal Jordan. He may not come with any accessories but he's totally superb and stunning paint job more then makes up for it, he looks awesome just standing there, plus you could always borrows accessories from other GLs.

Mass Effect 2 Commander Shepard Review

With the huge success of the Mass Effect 2 video game and the cementing of Mass Effect as a money making franchise here to stay, DC Direct created a line of highly detailed action figures to be released almost a year and a half after the release of the game. At first I wasn't that excited to get an action figure of Commander Shepard with a head that wasn't my customized face and hair, but after seeing photos of Shepard out of package in reviews, I was amazed with the level of detail and paint application on he's N7 armor, then I knew I had to have him. For over a decade DC Direct has done incredible work bringing three dimensional life to DC Comic's plethora of Super-Heroes, but with this line they show that their sculptors can recreate a computer generated character model in plastic like they just walked out of the game.

The sculpt in hand close up is a real sight to behold, tons of different textures with sculpted in details painted in, along with sweet mixes of black and gray variations, even the default male head sculpt is perfectly brought to physicality. Shepard comes with he's battle helmet, and he's trusty M-8 Avenger assault rifle, which I have to say is as accurately sculpted as he's armor, though I would of liked at least one more weapon been included, but it seems DC Direct's plan to have each character each come with a different weapon is a selling point to get the other figures. DC Direct isn't exactly known for their articulation in figures, so I was surprised to find out Shepard has got complete swivel just above he's elbow and knee joints, rotating wrist and balljointed ankles, only problem is you can just barely make him look like he's holding he's rifle, and can't even get he's arms high enough to look like he's firing it thanks to he super solid shoulder pads.

If your a fan of the Mass Effect universe and a toy collector then DC Direct ME2 Commander Shepard is an awesome piece of fandom to have. Series 2 of this line was thought to have been canceled but has recently confirmed to be coming out soon, which I am glad cause I'm definitely thinking of getting Garrus and Legion to accompany Shepard on my shelf. I can only hope they'll make more characters from the first game later, I would love to have Saren to stand off against.

Amazing Spider-Man 3D Trailer

I am sorry Toby Maguire and Sam Raimi but your films just got replaced in my eyes as mediocre attempts. Amazing Spider-Man is looking to be just that: Amazing, bring on the sequels and Green Goblin.

Avengers Super Bowl Teaser

Wow, I've decided this movie is one I'm definitely gonna try and see at the midnight release. Also from what I see of them in the teaser I beginning to believe that Loki's Army may be The Kree.

Soul Calibur V Collector's Edition Unpacking

I love same-day-as-release delivery, I've been playing this since Tuesday. A full review is coming after I do almost everything in the game, I want to be very thorough. The Collector's edition is very nice, pull it out of the sleeve and you got this nice almost faux-leather book, you open it up and you have the "Making Of DVD" on the inside of the cover, and then in the compartment you have the game case staring at ya, then you pull that to get to the beautiful artbook full of character details, full color art, and sketch work you won't see anywhere else. In the back of the artbook is stashed the official soundtrack CD, and as an additional bonus a redeem code is included to download Dark Knight and White Knight armor pieces to use in character creation.

I highly recommended this as a collector's items for hardcore Soul Calibur fans, I just love how freaking cool the book design is, looks great next to my Soul Calibur IV steel case.

MG Gundam Ez8 Update

Now that I have recovered from a muscle injury I've started to feel comfortable enough to sit down and resume building my Master Grade Gundam Ez8 a couple of days ago. From where I left off with he's arms and legs built, now I completed he's crotch, torso, shoulder armor, and did most of the detail and panel lines. Now just got he's head, backpack and weapons left to build and some detailing and stickers and Ez8 should be done soon.

Marvel Universe Ultimate Gift Set 5-Pack Review

When I heard about this set coming out I thought I'd never see it, let alone own it, but by incredible miraculous luck my Wal-Mart got it in along with the other Hasbro Ultimate Gift Sets for Christmas. I was strapped for cash cause of the Holiday shopping so I decided to get it later, but much to my very happy surprise I ended up getting it as a Christmas present. I'm so glad I got this set since I didn't have any of these figures, each figure has a new paint deco to make them unique to this set and everyone comes with an accessory, hell Spider-Man comes with two.

I been searching for a classic Captain America, so he was the real star of the set I was looking forward to, to lead my 3 3/4 inch Avengers. This Cap's deco to me is the best yet out of all of the previous Marvel Universe releases, the perfect blue, the just right red for the gloves and boots, and the sculpted on classic black belt instead of the modern pouched belt. Of course Cap's accessory is he's shield, but this one is molded in clear plastic to I believe emulate he's energy shield he used a few times in the comics, I would of preferred a normal shield but I'm not complaining, I finally got Cap.

The God of Thunder here is painted in a variation of he's classic costume, and like Cap the colors used are what I call "Comic Perfect", the red of the cape, the blue of he's pants, down to the dark yellow of the boot wraps. Thor's cape is removable, it simply just pegs in to he's back in two spots, I do have a slight gripe with the cape's length as it touches the ground, basically holding Thor up, but I guess if it was shorter then he'd be back heavy. The Thunderer comes equipped with he's trusty Uru hammer Mjolnor, which in my opinion could been a little bigger, it is the classic design thou.

This Classic Armor Iron Man is same as MU#21, the difference is this release has very little paint with the red and yellow parts molded in that color, giving him a cool "just walk off the comic page" visual palette. MU Classic Armor is skinnier then the Iron Man 2 Comic Series version of the same armor, so I like to look at it this one as a more skin tight suitcase portable model compared to the thicker heavy fighting/space capable suit. Tony's only accessory is the energy funnel blast every MU Iron Man comes with.

Spider-Man here in he's original red and blue outfit is a repainted Black Costume Spider-Man, I do wish he had he's signature web shooting hand, and thigh cut articulation like Scarlet Spider. I have to say I'm actually glad that he is a repaint cause the previous original Marvel Universe Spidey mold were very short. Peter comes a sweet web backpack, and this huge web line monstrosity that really needs to be redesigned to be smaller, remove the mess in the back, and clip on better.

Even though Wolverine here is a repaint of Marvel Universe's first and constantly repainted Wolvie mold, I love him, I think he's perfect, he could use a thigh cut articulation, but it's he's nice thin and separated claws that put him above all other Wolverine sculpts. The yellow on him is perfect for this costume, but I think the brown could been a little darker, to me it came out like a milk chocolate brown. Logan's only accessory is a Katana sword, but he really doesn't need it, come on he's The Damn Wolverine.

I very highly recommend this gift set to any one who is just starting to collect Marvel Universe figures, or hell a Marvel hero loving kid would fricking love this set. To the long time MU collector this set offers amazing repaints to fill out teams or even make alternate rosters. If you didn't pick this set up at Wal-Mart during the holiday season, it may or may not still be out in stores, or you can find it on Ebay or Amazon, good hunting.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Cinematic Trailer

Oh man I can not wait to play this in Fall. Almost felt like a Gears of War trailer, but everything both visually and audibly is nostalgic perfection straight from the original film, so I was drooling. I have to give huge props to Gearbox Software for doing their homework and working in facts like Xenomoprh blood not hurting each other for that great lead in to the Queen Alien.

Boldly Gone

Found this great new web comic: Boldly Gone, that shows what it's like to be a Starfleet Starhip Captain other then James T. Kirk but always hearing about all of he's exploits that are far more grandiose and attention getting thereby making other Captain's commands look mundane and forgettable. The main characters are Captain Paul Meredith of the USS Manadala, he's first officer former Orion Slave Girl Commander Arlynn D'Resh, and Chief Medical Officer Doctor Ken Chau. This is great, you've always wondered what the other Captains thought of Kirk's adventures, and seeing what the Kirk-praising is doing to Captain Meredith is fantastic storytelling entertainment. Boldly Gone has only had a few updates so you can get caught up real fast, new strips will be out biweekly.

Temporal Flux: One Year Anniversary!

One year and 190 post later Temporal Flux is now one year old. I am just glad I made it this far, I try every day to think up and look for stuff to blog about, I put alot of time into taking pictures, looking up accurate info, and writing, pain-staking and time consuming writing to keep this place up to date and semi-professional, it really pains me when I don't post something for 2 or 3 days. To the future, I currently have post in mid-construction I working on ready to go up when finalized, and 2012 looks to be a great year for action figures, movies, and video games so you know I'll be writing about them.

I want to thank my followers, and Blogger, and hope more travelers will join me as Temporal Flux travels into the future.

Resident Evil: Revelations Demo Review

Thanks to a close friend and he's 3DS I was able to play the just released RE: Revelations demo, and it was pure nostalgic suspense that made me feel right back at survival horror home. Right of the bat you really notice the depth the 3D gives to the environment that really adds to the unsettling atmosphere, especially when wading through some low fog and you see it move past Jill as she walks through it. Another element that really shakes you while playing is the music, it's creepy and situation setting, but as soon as a creature starts wailing on you the music changes to an adrenaline pumping horror theme 'til you take them down or die trying.

The controls on the 3DS are perfectly laid out, and simple to use on the fly during battle, the d-pad is used for quick weapon change, and reloading, while the letter buttons are for shooting, stabbing, and healing. The Touch screen for puzzles was an amazing highlight in this demo, like using your finger or stylus to unscrew screws, who would of ever thought. A new element to Resident Evil gaming is the Item Scanner, which I think is gonna be a really handy asset in surviving in the full game by finding more ammo, health, upgrades, and maybe even key items, and then there's an information gathering part to it that I think will end up giving you clues to enemy weaknesses and perhaps reveal environmental hints.

A great thing I learned from this demo is that you can change the shooting style from the first person mode that may have scared off a few fans to the RE4 style of over the shoulder with laser sight, that made me very happy. If you haven't already, go download this demo, if your any kind of a Resident Evil fan old or new you will definitely enjoy this. Then join me in the anticipation for a great new RE story that may be actually setting up stuff for RE6.

Resident Evil: Retribution Trailer

Wow, what can I say I'll be there, I've seen the last four in theaters I am gonna pay to see this one as well. I see a few new creatures, and I love there's going to be a team of heroes from the previous movies along with new faces including Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong. With Wesker coming back and Jill Valentine brainwashed, this movie is filled with characters from the video games, also I am pretty sure that is Patrick Stewart narrating the beginning.

RESIDENT EVIL 6

YES!!! OH HELL YES!!! I am sorry Mass Effect 3 but you just got bumped down, RE6 is now my #1 greatest game of 2012. That was pure survival horror perfection, Leon and Chris together for the first time in the same RE game, holy shit a new Nemesis B.O.W., and ZOMBIES!, the fricking return of the T-Virus created zombies as the main threat, also saw some G-Virus mutations. I am so glad Capcom keep the development of 6 under wraps, not leaking teasers or early gameplay footage, cause up to today no one knew when RE6 might of arrived or what the story was gonna be, beautiful move Capcom nicely played.

Asura's Wrath

HOLY SHIT! does this game look freaking awesome. The game is like God of War meets Dragon Ball Z with a touch of Devil May Cry, I've heard the name here and there but now after seeing videos and playing the demo I can not wait to play the full game and see this epic story play out. If you love a good ol' beat'em up button masher with out of this world anime battles then you have to play this game, the demo is now up on PSN and Xbox Live, game will be on sale February 21st.

Marvel Universe Darkhawk Review

First of all I was psyched when I heard Hasbro was gonna make a Darkhawk Marvel Universe figure, I love Darkhawk, I have Darkhawk #1 in my comic collection, hell I love obscure c-list 90's heroes, where's my Sleepwaker figure Hasbro. Darkhawk is the old Marvel Universe male buck but with he's new head, added silver armor pieces, and one hell of an awesome metallic blue and black paint job totally sells him as a must have. Darkhawk's only real accessory is he's removable wings, which I'm glad they made them solid and not stupid cloth or some sort of rigid back attachment. Now that we have Darkhawk, maybe we'll get he's enemy Evilhawk or even better a Darkhawk Marvel Legend.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Movie

Hmm, looks like an alternate reality, you can see the new characters Akito and Reira, and I believe I saw Jeremiah, an insane Suzaku, and a chick that looks like Lelouch. New mecha and CGI action looks great, especially Akito's Alexander kicking ass. The movie will screen in 10 select theaters throughout Japan early this summer, also Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, the producer of the Code Geass anime franchise, has announced that a film adaptation of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is planned as well.

Eureka Seven AO Sci-Fi TV Sequel’s Story Outined

The February issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype magazine is presenting the story outline, staff list, and a new piece of art for Eureka Seven Ao, the sequel to Bones’ 2005-2006 Eureka Seven television anime series, on Tuesday.

The story is set on Okinawa’s isolated island of Iwado, which has seen a growing movement advocating a return to an autonomous government. Ao Fukai, a 13-year-old boy with a missing father, lives on the island with an old doctor named Toshio and is about to enter middle school. Ao’s mother was taken away a decade ago by unknown individuals. Naru Arata, Ao’s 13-year-old childhood friend and the story’s heroine, lives with her father, older sister, and grandmother. She has a “Yuta” power awakened within her due to an incident when she was young.

A mysterious entity called “Secret” suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. In his fervent desire to protect the island, Ao launches a certain military FP called “Nirvash” aboard a Japanese military transport.

The anime sequels features the return of the original anime’s director, several mechanical designers, art director, color stylist, visual effects director, and director of photography. The first anime’s character designer Kenichi Yoshida and main mechanical designer Shoji Kawamori are also credited for “key character designs” and “Nirvash designs,” respectively.

Marvel Mega Bloks Series 3 Review

I don't know why I loves these guys so much, I just do, I now have 21 of them only missing a rare from series 1. Series 3 is 50% X-Men, 25% Spider-Man, and 25% Fantastic Four, something for everyone. Here are the codes to identify who is who in the blind packs, remember this code is indented on right side border on the back of the package, but I must worn the codes I provide here might be different from some cases because of later production releases, good hunting.

I have to say Iceman is favorite, yes he's just Silver Surfer cast in clear plastic but he's frosted coating along with he's clear plastic energy blast and blok stand is just visually great to look at. Sandman is 2nd because of he's weapon arm and bank bag accessory followed by Silver Surfer and he's perfect Surf Board he's feet peg in to. Cyclops loses points cause I hate the costume they painted on him, it's not an official in the comics costume it's only seen promotional art for Marvel, but breaks even cause I love he's clear ruby blok stand, then Magneto is nearly perfect but they should of add some purple paint to he's neck and collar area to better emulate he's costume.

Series 3 is another sweet addition to the Marvel Mega Blok line, I can't wait to hear who is gonna be in the next series. I'm still hoping to see Cable show up as a Mega Blok figure. Well now we have 5 X-Men, and with Mr. Fantastic we are on the road to hopefully getting the rest of the Fantastic Four, keep them coming Mega Bloks.

Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean

How did I not know about this 'til now?! This is awesome news, Eureka Seven is a genuinely great Mech anime mixing Gundam level action and drama with Evangelion level meta-physics and psychology. I can't be the only one that thinks that kid looks he's the son of Renton and Eureka, and I wonder if the Nirvash in the new series is the orignal with a new outer shell or another Nirvash-type LFO?

Movie Masters Sinestro

I had to get Movie Masters Sinestro to accompany my Movie Masters Hal Jordan, I really wish they had more of a teacher and student partnership in the movie, a real lost opportunity that would of gave Mark Strong more screen time to shine. Like Hal Sinestro has the same amount of limited articulation, meaning even though he has articulation at he's elbow and knees they can only be bent at about 70 degrees, so that means I can't get Sinestro to cross he's arms across he's chest. The Korugaran Lantern of 1417 is wonderfully sculpted to recreate he's movie costume, Mattel did a great job on he's head, from the pink paint to the sculpted hair that perfectly portrays he's close and faded military cut to the etched in scars on he's face and yellow eyes. Sadly the only thing missing from this figure is a sword construct, he only comes with a collect-n-connect piece for the ugly movie version of Parallax I have no desire to ever complete.

Marvel Universe Scarlet Spider Review

I know a lot of Spider-Man fans like try to forgot the whole Clone Saga ever happened, but I was excited to see Scarlet Spider made in to a Marvel Universe figure because I like Ben Reilly's Scarlet Spider costume way better the one he wore when he was Spider-Man. Ben's body is a recolored mold of MU Black Costume Spider-Man, but with a new head and added thigh-cut articulation, with new non-sculpted-on removable equipment of he's jacket vest, web-shooters, belt, and ankle pouches. Scarlet Spider's unpainted red body really stands out with the separate rubber jacket and other floating accessories, awesome design idea there Hasbro, Scarlet Spider is a great action figure and I highly recommend him to Marvel Universe collectors.

Marvel Universe Commander Steve Rogers Review

When Steve Rogers returned from he's apparent death he let he's former partner Bucky continue on as Captain America while he became the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I love this costume, I'm ecstatic we got it in both Marvel Universe and Marvel Legend scale, the costume perfectly displays "I'm no longer Captain America, but I am still the world's one and only Super Soldier". Commander Rogers is super fricking articulated and is a completely brand new body sculpt, figures like this and Cable give me high hopes that the Marvel Universe line is definitely getting better and better with time, way to go Hasbro.

You can't say this not a prequel to the original 1979 Alien movie, you can clearly see that is the derelict ship and the Space Jockey. I haven't read the Hobbit, hell I didn't even like Lord of The Rings until I saw Fellowship of The Ring on Starz one night, but I know this movie will be a perfect cinema masterpiece just like the LotR trilogy because Peter Jackson himself is back as director, producer and writer. Gollum at the end was the absolute best part of the trailer, and damn Gandalf looks EXACTLY how he looked in Fellowship, perfection. I wonder if this trailer is footage from both movies or just part 1?

Crimson Dynamo & Titanium Man Review

Good move on Hasbro's part for the vague bio on the back of Crimson Dynamo's card because this particular armor is the sixth Crimson Dynamo Valentin Shatalov. Personally I think Valentin's suit makes the best 6in. action figure and Hasbro perfectly recreated it in plastic here, straight out the comics right down to the non-symmetrical designs on he's shoulders, superb attention. He's only accessory is the same exact projectile launcher that has come with nearly every Iron Man movie figure, but who cares he's an awesome highly poseable figure.

Titanium Man has always been Boris Bullski here sculpted in he's most current armor. Like Dynamo, T-Man comes with a repackaged projectile weapon which originally came with the movie version of Titanium Man now painted the same color green as he's armor. I really have to hand it to Hasbro, sometimes they skimp out and do repaints or part mash-ups but with Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man they went all out with completely new sculpts with no shared parts between them phenomenally painted and detailed, if you collect 6in. Marvel figures and you see either or both of these guys at retail pick them up, they're fricking outrageously overpriced online.

Based on the the JLA story arc "Tower of Babel" written by Mark Waid. The only thing I don't like is they changed who is on the league, Cyborg instead of Aquaman, and Hal Jordan instead of Kyle Rayner, and no Plastic Man. I can understand that they wanted to go with the original seven, but it's not, Cyborg is only just now on the Justice League in the DC "New 52" taking Martian Manhunter's spot cause he's on Stormwatch. I can't complain about Hal Jordan being there cause he's being voiced by Nathan Fillion, and I not gonna miss Plastic Man.

Marvel Universe Extremis Iron Man & Wolverine

Iron Man's armor before he's current "Bleeding Edge" armor was the "Extremis" armor thanks to the Extremis nano-virus which allows Tony to liquify and store the gold under-armor inside he's bones, and techno-kinetically call forth the outer red armor, all which is directly connected to Tony's mind and nervous system which he controls as a second skin, and can cyberneticly interface with any other technology. The figure is painted in a incredible metallic dark red that perfect assents the gold pieces, and I have to give Hasbro high praise for the painted in panel lines that bring out the sculpted details. The only real negative point I have with this figure is he's leg articulation at the hip, the don't move at all, the legs are on the ball joints so tight that if played with could snap, real poor design there, and again I hate the stupid funnel energy blast.

Yay, my first Marvel Universe 3 3/4 inch Wolverine shown here wearing an X-Men training uniform which the entire team wore for a short while to have a uniform look but when the original X-Men came back and the Blue and Gold teams were formed, Logan went back to he's brown and tan costume. This is actually the running change second release of this figure, he's first release have different less detailed head, I like the detail on this one, but I would liked him gritting he's teeth over he's somber look he has. Wolverine's one low mark is he's legs, he's legs move great at the hips in all directions but when aligned straight are still at an angle making he's feet not touch the ground flat which makes him difficult to stand up and falls over easily, legs could of used a calf twist Hasbro.

U.S. Agent: I was the only other 90's character he had in this scale.

New Dark Knight Rises Poster

JAW DROPPING!!! This poster reenforces my belief that Batman just might die in this movie, be it "Batman" or actually Wayne himself to defeat Bane. From what I have seen and heard from the cast and crew it seems Bane is more then just a villain for Batman to take down but is doing what he's doing in the movie to bring Bruce to realize that not just Gotham City but the whole world needs him to be a symbol and to understand that he is Batman now and forever, and that he must commit himself 100% fully, never doubt, never give in or give up, complete and total devotion to he's mission even if it kills him. So Bruce will have to take him out using he's mind, body, and resources without killing him and prove to Gotham that the city needs him, and if he can't then he was not worthy to be this new symbol and dark guardian. If he does die I have this feeling that he'll be grooming Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character John Blake (If that's he's real name winkwink) to he's way of thinking throughout the movie and have him start to understand that Gotham needs a Batman and Bruce would be leaving him clues to he's secret and he's legacy to pass on to someone younger, now that would be a hell of a dramatic ending.

Blood-C: The Last Dark Teaser

I have seen and love Blood: The Last Vampire and Blood+, haven't watched Blood-C yet. I don't know if this movie is a sequel to the Blood-C TV series but to me it looks like a new re-telling of the story in The Last Vampire in a modern setting. The movie won't be out in Japan 'til June 2nd 2012, so that should give me enough time to re-watch everything including Blood-C and maybe even the live-action movie I haven't watched yet either.

Soul Calibur V: Can Not Wait!

First off the staff user Xiba has been revealed as Kilik's successor in Soul Calibur V, finally I was worried there. Especially since I need a staff user to give my custom Cable character he's fighting style and weapon. I may be glad that a staff user is still in the game but I'm really gonna miss my favorite character Kilik, and he's saying "Listen to the beat of my soul."

The new Yoshimitsu looks awesomely wicked, as does Lizardman, sweet he has two axes now, wonder what custom character I could use that style for. Totally surprised to see Dampierre make the jump to the console from the PSP, definitely gonna make a custom Joker out of he's fighting style. Not sure how to take Ezio Auditore as the guest character, never liked the Assassin's Creed games, but from what footage I've seen looks to be fun fighter to play as, damn usually can't use a guest fighter's fighting style, perhaps could of been a new version of my custom Deadpool.

I usually don't get collector's editions of video game unless I really love the game or comes with something really cool, which SC5 falls in both with an art book, exclusive armors, soundtrack disc, oh and did I mention it all comes in a book, SOLD. I have to say Soul Calibur is my favorite fighting video game right next to Tekken, but I'll tell you now I can't wait to get this game to make custom characters, trust me comic book heroes and villains and anime characters will be filling up the custom slots really quick. I mean just checkout this trailer that shows how much more detail, scars, patterns on clothes, and hair styles to choose from to closer make a completely personalized custom fighter or get that favorite hero as close as possible.

Transformers Generations Sky Shadow

Sky Shadow or Black Shadow as he was known in Japan in a episode of the Transformers: Victory anime and toyline, who has the distinction of not only being a veil Decepticon but also a Space Gangster as he was listed under function on he's original bio. I have been wanting this guy for a long time, ever since I saw he's original boxart picture well before Hasbro ever made a modern rendition of Thunderwing of which the original Black Shadow was also a repaint and retooling of. So when the new Thunderwing did come out I of course got him, but continued to hope Hasbro would pay homage to their shared legacy, and for one am overly glad that they did.

Sky Shadow just looks like the perfect evil example of a Decepticon, and he's new black, silver, and red deco and new head and chest pieces awesomely create a new character different from Thunderwing. There is one thing about the figure I am not pleased about, on the back of he's card and in press release photos he's shoulder pads and forearms are painted black, on the released figure they are not, leaving he's entire arm all the same color gray, WTH Hasbro. If your a huge Transformers fan, or just have a few cool Transformers you need Sky Shadow.

Centurions & Skeletons: Sweet!

Hell yeah, anyone that watched Cartoon Network between 1994 and 1996 watched Centurions, and now coming out on DVD December 6th. 3 guys each with specialized weapon system battle suits beamed down to them from a fricking space station, yep my 10 year brain was hooked. Definitely can't wait to get this DVD and then the whole 60 episode series, Man and Machine, POWER XTREME!

Here's one from '94 I use to watch on Saturday mornings also coming out December 6th, living skeletons battle guys with speeder bikes, and laser guns, oh yeah I was there. I love seeing cartoons from my childhood coming out on DVD for today's kids to see, to stop them from watching some of the weird crap that's called children's entertainment these days. Now where's my Spider-Man animated series on DVD Disney?

Justice League Movie: How I Would Make It

So director George Miller was recently talking about the Justice League movie he almost made that was cancelled before production started, and that got me thinking about who would I like to see portray the heroes and villains, and what kind of story I think would made a great film. First I'll start off with would play who:

Superman/Clark Kent = Matt Bomer: He's the only actor I haven't seen in anything besides "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" which I try not to remember, but he was on the shortlist of actors considered to play Supes in the currently filming "Man of Steel", and he looks the part too, that's enough for me.

Batman/Bruce Wayne = Jim Caviezel: I have been watching Mr. Caviezel recently in the TV show "Person of Interest", and if you've watched it too then you know this man has the acting, the voice, and physical training to be a great Batman, I even believe he was in the running to be The Dark Knight back in 2005. He is my #1 choice not just for a Justice League movie but also for the next solo Batman film.

Green Lantern/Hal Jordan = Ben Browder: If you've seen "Farscape" and the last two season of "Stargate SG-1" you know he would be the perfect, PER-FECT, Hal Jordan. Ben can masterfully portray seriousness, cockiness, quick wit, and action hero interchangeably on the fly. Ryan Reynolds wishes he had half the talent Ben has, Ben proves you don't need to be a comedian to be funny.

Wonder Woman/Diana = Tricia Helfer: Yes, I think the beauty that played Cylon Model 6 on "Battlestar Galactica" would make the perfect regel, and at the same time furious Amazon warrior princess the screen has been waiting for.

Flash/Barry Allen = Alan Tudyk: A truly under-appreciated and under-used actor, I love this guy he's been in tons of TV shows and movies and each is better for having him in them so I know he could fantastically pull off shy crime lab scientist and fast thinking and funny super hero.

Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onzz = Chiwetel Ejiofor: After seeing him as a creepy assassin in the Firefly movie "Serenity" I saw that Chiwetel is a phenomenal actor that can play the lost soul using he's abilities to help he's new world that is The Last Son of Mars.

Aquaman/Arthur Curry = Jesse Spencer: Aquaman may not be everyones favorite DC Superhero, but I think a JL movie would be the best place to get him on the big screen and after seeing Spencer for 8 years on "House" I think he can handle the some times fierce loner, sometimes wise King, and sometimes swashbuckling Atlantean.

Vandal Savage = Viggo Mortensen: Look at that pic, make he's hair longer and he's beard thicker and you got your self a live-action Vandal Savage, and we all know Viggo could pull off an immortal warlord.

Maxwell Lord = Christopher Waltz: The movie "Inglorious Basterds" break out surprise was Waltz's amazing scene stealing acting, and I think this is the guy to play the double-crossing hero-hating S.O.B.

If you've noticed I have chosen actors that are in their late 30's or 40's cause this is what I think a Justice League movie needs, that the team comes together for a crisis but before hand they were each already veterans long into their own heroic careers around the world and universe but never actually worked together, heard of each other but never made an effort to meet one another (except Batman, of course Batman has information on them all). What the movie doesn't need is a bunch of new to Hollywood 20-something actors just looking pretty and either under or over acting because "it's a comic-book movie". See Marvel it making a movie for each Avenger before the team movie, but DC needs to do the opposite and make the team movie first to generate interest in their other heroes and that will lead to new fans to want to see the other heroes in their own individual movies.

I don't think the film should have one main character, I think it should show all the heroes equally and really show that they have to combine their abilities and work as a team, but the best character to start off the film and the one that brings the heroes together should be Martian Manhunter. As the only hero of the seven that has never been portrayed in live action either of film or TV (yes I know of the '97 JLA TV pilot, but it never aired) it's he's turn to be introduced to a larger audience. My story would start with J'onn as he is transported to Earth well before the infant Kal-El's arrival, and then later he'll be our guide that quickly through voiced-over inner-monolog introduces us to the other heroes and once getting them together informs them of what is endangering the Earth and that it will take all of them stop it.

Now with a movie with seven super-heroes it needs a great villain to be behind the civilization destroying threat, one that is both a physical and intellectual match for the League and I believe the over 50,000 year old immortal Vandal Savage is a perfect foil for the team but at the same time can be totally maniacal. In addition I would include Maxwell Lord to a be behind the scenes villain complete with he's mind-controlling power, while actively looking to be a regular guy helping the League is secretly helping Savage by misleading the heroes to make sure they find don't out who he is and what's he's up to. Hollywood when it comes to the costumes all you have to do is make them look exactly like they do in the comics just made out of realistic materials (the Spider-Man movies proved that), and Martian Manhunter's appearance has to be makeup not CGI for the love Jack Kirby, please I hope you learned from your mistakes (cough, greenlantern, cough), Warner Bros. I hope you read this.

Top 10 Marvel Universe Wants

So now that I have started down the dark path of collecting Marvel Universe 3.75 inch figures, and Hasbro is starting to put better effort into their sculpts I have found myself starting to yearn to see some of my favorite characters released in future waves. So here is my top 10 wants I would like to see sculpted and released:

#1 Stryfe: Yes, now that he is close to becoming a Marvel Legend, I must also have Cable's nemesis in the 3.75in scale. I personally want he's classic look, but I wouldn't mind he's recent Messiah War appearance.

#2 Abomination: Hasbro has been doing the big guys really well, so I know their Abomination can not disappoint, especially if it'll were a all new sculpt instead if painted on detail.

#3 Ghost Rider II (Danny Ketch): I was really surprised we got Johnny Blaze's original Ghost Rider look before the leather jacket and spikes modern version the Danny Ketch started.

#4 Baron Zemo (Helmut Zemo): Still waiting for a Marvel Legend of him as well, and as a major Avengers and Captain America villain he demands to be made. Don't care if it's he's classic or modern look as long as I get Zemo.

#5 Ultimate Thor: With Ultimate Captain America, and Ultimate Iron Man already in 3.75 scale we need Thor to complete the Ultimate Trinity, and hopefully start the trend of getting more Ultimate heroes made.

#6 Black Panther (Man Without Fear): I don't know if other fans
like T'Challa's new costume when he became Hell's Kitchen's guardian, but I love it and definitely can't wait to see it in articulated plastic. An easy paint variant would be American Panther.

#7 Omega Red: Classic essential Wolverine and X-Men villain just dying to be made, 'nuff said.

#8 Mephisto: Speak of the devil and he shall appear. You can display him menacing any one, from Ghost Rider to Silver Surfer to Thanos, and even Spider-Man.

#9 Annihilus: The Living Death That Walks, Lord of The, Negative Zone, and classic villain of The Fantastic Four would be a sweet challenge I would like to see Hasbro tackle.

#10 Deathlok: OK, he's a personal want I would like to see made. With Deathlok's reappearance in Wolverine: Weapon X and Uncanny X-Force he should have gain new fans, so it should a perfect time for a new Deathlok figure. I don't care which one is made, I'm a fan of all three.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series Premiere Review

Just look at that, Hal Jordan: Green Lantern of Sector 2814 in all he's CG animated glory, yeah that pic is gonna be my wallpaper for while. The one hour advanced sneak peek of Green Lantern: The Animated premiered today, and to my and other GL fans expectations is was awesome. After 4 seasons of John Stewart being a rather bland Green Lantern in the Justice League animated series, finally the greatest of emerald knights gets he's own show to show what a Green Lantern can really do with a Power Ring.

The basic premise of the first season is set up quickly as beyond The Guardians of The Universe known jurisdiction is Frontier Space where limitedly trained Green Lanterns are being killed. When Hal and Kilowog find out they disobey orders and commandeer a prototype A.I. equipped Power Battery powered spaceship to reach Frontier Space and find the murders responsible. Once there they immediately come to the rescue of a Green Lantern under attack from Red Lanterns, using Power Rings powered by the ruby energy of rage, now stranded away from home and back-up they must survive to warn Oa of this new deadly threat to the universe.

I can not wait to watch more episodes next spring, the creators really nailed the perfect balance and mixture of comic book lore with newly created situations and characters. The voice acting and characterizations were perfect, I am so glad they got the Guardians perfect from Appa Ali Apsa to Ganthet and them keeping stuff from their Green Lanterns. The best thing about this episode and what's also gonna be great about the series is the fighting and use of Power Ring Contructs, CONSTRUCTS!, not just energy blast and bubbles, along with knocking each other in to asteroids but still just plain socking each other in the face, this is the Green Lantern series I have always wanted.

Splinter of The Mind's Eye Review

Released in 1978 Splinter of The Mind's Eye is the very first expanded universe novel written by Alan Dean Foster who also wrote the novelization of the original '77 film. The story it set 2 years after the destruction of the Death Star and 1 year before the Battle of Hoth with Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia on their way to Circarpous IV to recruit underground rebels to their Rebel Alliance against the evil Galactic Empire. Engine failure and an unnatural planetary phenomenon crash-land Luke and Leia on the planet Mimban, a secret Imperial mining planet, where not only do they have to avoid capture and escape the planet but are also become enthralled in a search for The Kaiburr Crystal said to incredibly enhance one's power over The Force.

I loved this book, it was action packed and I have to say the most brutal Star Wars story I ever read in it's description of battles with Yuzzem ripping apart Stormtroopers, injuries after a Thermal Detonator explosion, and Lightsaber wounds. This story is unique being the only story that explores Luke and Leia emerging and confusing feelings for each other before they ever discover they are siblings, basically seeing the starting of their caring about each other and getting to know more about each other. My most favorite thing in the book is Foster's portrayal of Darth Vader, awesomely writing as the badass Dark Lord of The Sith who is both fearsome, deadly, and unforgiving, the Vader that definitely lives up to he's bold reputation referenced in the movies.

I highly recommend this book to all Star Wars fans, not just for it being the first expanded universe story but also it's truly great story which was original written to be filmed as a TV movie if the original film didn't do well in theaters, the Star Wars 2 that could of been. The story didn't have Space battles or Han Solo and Chewbacca, but I think learning more about how the Empire operates, Luke and Leia's comradery, and the epic Lightsaber battle at the end more then make up for it. Also you've got to love the right out of the storyboards art by Ralph McQuarrie for the cover, makes me want to track down the first edition of the original film novelization Star Wars: From The Adventures of Luke Skywalker with he also did the cover for.

Crossbones Review

The elusively rare Crossbones, badass Captain America villain, and right-hand man and pupil of The Red Skull has added to my collection. I think I got all the comic character figures I wanted from the Captain America: The First Avenger line, the regular "Heavy Artillery" Cap I feel is little short to fit in with other Marvel Universe figure but I'm still on the fence about him, and I don't care for the WWII Ultimate Cap or New Excalibur Captain Britain who is also criminally short. Just like the comic figures in Iron Man 2 line, these figures in the Cap line are must haves, and fit in with the Marvel Universe figures great, it's strange the Thor line didn't have a comic character sub-series, I would of loved to been able to get other Thor costumes and villains.

Crossbones's height and build are perfect, even he's detail and colors are comic accurate, way better then the mismatched colored version that came in a two pack. CB comes equipped with two sub-machine guns and an assault rifle, their drab olive color is kinda of an odd though, it's a shame there's no holster for one of the SMGs or a slot or hook on he's back for the rifle so he could carry them all. I love that he's tactical vest is a separate softer plastic piece leaving the big shirted torso for future repaints as new characters.

They have set out to parody the original trilogy in chronological order, they started out doing A New Hope, then went on to some expanded universe stuff that happen afterward, and now their about a third in to The Empire Strikes Back. I highly enjoyed Underworld 1 & 2, the prequel Rise of the Lycans was alright but without Kate Beckinsale and guns wasn't quite as good, did love seeing Bill Nighy as Viktor again though. Awakening looks good, and glad to see the humans coming in to the war, and definitly glad Micheal is gone and now Selene is looking for her hybrid daughter. Also I'm totally up for seeing actor Stephen Rea who's great acting I last saw in V for Vendetta, on screen again.

Iron Man 3.75 Figures Review

A couple of weeks ago I got five Iron Man 2 Comic Series 3.74 inch figures for cheap off Big Bad Toy Store, now bringing my collection of 3.75 inch figures to 17. So now it looks like I'll slowly be assembling Tony Stark's Hall of Armors. These guys are great, they have amazing paint and sculpted detail.

In chronological order let's start with the Classic armor, this one Tony wore for a long time and is most recognized as he's first original red and gold ensemble. There's only one I don't like about the is figure, it the painted blue chest piece and eye slits, the chest should of been the same color yellow, and he's eye slit should be black, I hate that they did that to be similar to the movie. He also comes with a "Blast-Off" stand, but it is very difficult to get him to stand and balance on it cause of the small amount space, only one foot peg, and sloped forward surface, a flat even surface and two foot pegs would of made it a better accessory.

Stealth Iron Man is a beautiful repaint of the classic armor, the two different metallic blues with the red eyes is amazing, I only wish he's chest piece was the same color red as he's eyes. Silver Centurion is perfect, and since Neo-Classic is mostly the same mold with a remolded chest and a new head he's mostly perfect as well, except he's head sits really low making him a bit shorter then SC and the other armors. Everything on the Advanced armor is nicely reproduced from the comic, and my only complaints are the red dots in the the eyes and the exposed inner joint bits at the top of the thighs.

Every Iron Man came with a slip in "Repulsor Blast". I think the yellow oness would of looked better without the "rifling" sculpted on the beam. I personally like the spiraling fire ball version out of the two types, but hey their both better then the clip-on funnel that Marvel Universe Bleeding Edge IM came with.

Also got Ultimate Captain America, half cause he was taunting me being the only Captain America 3.75 on the shelve I kinda wanted, and half cause of the challenge of making he gimmick shield in to a decent display shield.

NYCC'11 Marvel Legends Unveils

The 2011 New York Comic-Con has come and gone, and same as the San Diego convention they unveil new action figures at booth displays and company panels, while in July at San Diego the first series of the 2012 Marvel Legends was unveiled and now in New York series 2 and more was revealed. Honestly other then Bucky Captain America Series 2 doesn't really amaze me much, to me series 1 had the right mix of characters and new sculpts, where as series 2 look like nothing but repainted sculpts. Now I'm not saying I'm totally against repainted sculpts, but I believe Hasbro should pad at least half the a series with new sculpts especially when only this only their 2nd series of their relaunch.

Captain America (Heroic Age Bucky): Oh yeah, he has been long awaited since this costume come out 7 years ago. Looks perfect, and looks to be a completely new sculpt.
Daken (Dark Avengers): Doesn't look to bad, except I don't like he's white bone claws. They don't look anything like he's thin black claws he has in the comics, hopefully they fix that by production.
Drax The Destroyer: Not one of the characters I was dying to see made a Marvel Legends, but he dose look great I'll give him that.
Fantomex: I really do like Fantomex as a character, but I don't think he was at the top of anyone's wishlist to be made soon and all I see is an Ultimate Nick Fury repaint with a new head and guns.
Madame Mask/Madame Hydra (Viper): Now I don't mind these two being repaints with new heads because the sculpts aren't far from what their comic costumes actually are. Mask will be a great addition to Iron Man's enemies, and Viper to Hydra's forces.
Spider-Man (Big Time): Really, green paint on an all black body. Would it kill Hasbro to actually sculpt some lines on the mold to paint in instead of paint on. Now the Future Foundation variant I'm excited about, he should be the first released in my opinion.
Thunderball/Piledriver: These two guys look great for color switch repaints with different heads, but I for one am glad to get half of the Wreckers in one series, hopefully Bulldozer and Wrecker him self aren't too far behind.
Arnim Zola Build-A-Figure: He may not of not been on my list of Build-A-Figure wants but he was on a lot of other ML collector's, so I definitely welcome him as a Captain America villain.

At the Hasbro Marvel Panel more upcoming Marvel Legends were revealed and these to me were the best news to come out of NYCC'11:

Stryfe: YES!!! My #1 Marvel Legends want of all time has been confirmed to be in the making. Thank you Hasbro, The Askani'Son will finally have the Chaos-Bringer to face.
Jean Grey (90's): My #2 most wanted character is also near to being reality. In the not to distant future 90's X-Men Blue/Gold team displays will be completed everywhere.
Archangel: Ooo, a completely new mold with better designed wings this is a surprise, and of course a 50/50 variant of both original blue and pink and current X-Force black and silver will most likely be the case.
Punisher: Sweet, a Jim Lee designed Punisher in a trench coat and gonna come with a ton of weapons, now that's awesome.
US Agent: I can't believe it took us this long to get a US Agent figure, but it looks to be well worth the wait.

Along with the Marvel Legend reveals and news, Hasbro also showcased the upcoming Avengers 6 inch action figure line that's not only gonna have the movie versions of The Avengers from next summer's blockbuster but also brand new figures of Avengers from the comics as well. So far shown was the movie Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, and Loki 6 inch figures, and then at the panel showed slides of Ultimate Thor and Ultimate Hawkeye. I totally psyche to finally get Ultimate Thor to complete my Ultimate Avengers Trinity with Ultimate Captain America and Ultimate Iron Man.

Transformer: Fall of Cybertron Teaser

Oh yeah, can not wait to play as Grimlock. War for Cybertron was definitely THE Transformers game we were waiting for, and this sequel looks to blow it out of the water and become the new #1. My personal hopes are a longer campaign and way more Autobots and Decepticons to pick from and see.

Hurricane Hordak Review

Gonna go clubbing

I really wasn't interested in getting Hordak, Ruthless Leader of the Evil Horde, or any member of the Evil Horde for that matter, I personally only wanted She-Ra and her secret identity of Princess Adora from the Princess of Power characters. Normally I would want a hero's evil counterpart/nemesis/antagonist, and even though I do like Hordak's character in PoP cartoon, I felt he's previous Classics figure was based too much on he's 2000 cartoon appearance where he was more of sorcerer then a technologically powered alien warlord like in the original cartoon, so I was holding off for a more cartoon accurate repaint with a cannon arm accessory. Then I started seeing pics and reviews of Hurricane Hordak, and you know what sold me on getting him?, when he doesn't have an attachment on he's arm it looks like a cannon, yay.

SOLD!

Hurricane Hordak come with three attachments, a bat wing shaped slicing blades, a three balled mace, and a four pronged spiked shield. Now the vac-metal chest armor isn't as great as it looks in press release photos, because the vac-metal applied doesn't adhere well to the type of plastic the chest armor is molded from and is really cloudy and not as shiny, so it looks weird you can see your reflection in he's stomach but not in he's chest. I really like this Hordak, and I think the gold armor and he's weapon arm better fit a ruthless leader who wants to conquer and rule, and better connects with fans of the original cartoon in my opinion.

Marvel's flagship team of super-heroes are finally assemble and ready to rule summer 2012. I love when trailers have great rock songs in them, and Nine Inch Nails "We're all in this together now" is damn perfect for this one. Every actor looks to be at the top of their game and in perfect character, this just could be the single greatest live-action super-hero movie ever and go down in history as a cinema masterpiece.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time Review

THIS. GAME. IS. HARD. I am not even kidding or even over exaggerating, I think I have developed Post-Traumatic Game Syndrome. It has to be one of the hardest video games I have played on the current gen consoles, I mean Edge of Time is up there with God of War III. This is no kids game or other cheesy attempt just to make money off Spider-Man's name, this game is meticulously designed to challenge even the most well versed and veteran of gamers.

The non-stop combat in this game is relentless, you have to constantly use every power and every ability you have at your disposal to fight off and evade punches, gun fire, lasers, sonic blast, missiles, and axes reigning down on you all at once. Then there's the environmental hazards of fire, radiation, electricity, toxic chemicals, and inter-dimensional tentacles going on at the same time while fighting just to get in to the next room, this is every second of the game. I mean the game does give you health refills from defeated enemies and orbs lying around, but with the amount of near endless harm always upon you, especially in boss fights, it's barely enough, that's why you have to be on your toes to do your best and not get as damaged, and learn enemies patterns or it'll be ol' restart-o-rama 'til you succeed.

That aside, I loved the game, I really did, I highly enjoyed the banter back and forth between Peter and Miguel, and of course the Time Travel sci-fi story had me intrigued from the get go. Also phenomenal cinematic cut-scenes, perfect voice acting from both Spider-Men, and a perfect "could of been straight out a comic book" script written by the great Peter David can't but help it's entertainment value. If you a big Spider-Man fan and don't mind a challenge, and by challenge I mean yelling at your TV and wanting to break you controller for 8 hours then I would recommend renting Edge of Time.

Wow!, simply wow. I watched the 3rd TV series on Cartoon Network back 2003 and highly enjoyed it, and this movie look to be an even more extreme and modern update. Can't wait, hope it get's a simultaneous release American release, I'd love to see this in theaters, dub or no dub, then own it on blu-ray.

Thundercats Classics Lion-O Review

When I heard Bandai was gonna make figures based on the original 80's Thundercats I was really excited but at the same time had some doubts, I mean come on the last time I bought something from Bandai that wasn't a Gundam it was the original Power Ranger figures, but with Lion-O in hand all those doubts are gone. Lion-O looks like he walked right out of the TV screen and instantly turned in to plastic, the colors on him are that great, now most of he's colors are from he's molded plastic parts, the figure dose not have much actual paint on him which consist of he's entire head, borders of the armor, abs, completely painted belt, forearms, hands, and the top of he's boots. The Lord of The Thundercats comes with 5 accessories, 2 versions of the Sword of Omens, he's Claw Shield, an interchangeable open right hand, and a removable blue strap to hang the Claw Shield from he's hip, which I thought it was gonna be a softer plastic but it's very rigid and when hanging from the hip with the Claw Shield attached it tends to pop off very easy cause of the tension against the leg.

One the negatives about this figure is the larger extended Sword of Omens is made of a very soft almost rubbery plastic given it a tendency to droop, and also it is way too large, I don't understand why they made it so much bigger then it need to be. All they had to do was take the short version, which is perfect, and remold it with the different hilt and triple the blade length, but no they made the Sword of Omens a damn heavy looking broadsword. Then the other weird thing about this figure that baffles me and other collectors is the different color ankle joints, what the hell Bandai?, why couldn't you mold the ankle joints in the same color plastic as the boots? It's an eye-catchingly bad move which should of never made it to the production line.

Those small distracters aside Lion-O is an awesome action figure, and a must have and total welcome to my and any other Thundercats fan's collection. Now hopefully we'll hear about getting some more figures down the line soon like Cheetra, Panthro, and Mum-Ra.

"You've heard the rumors, and now StarTrek.com can officially confirm it: Star Trek: The Next Generation will be released in high-definition Blu-ray, starting in January with a sampler of several popular episodes, followed by a season-one set to be released later on in 2012, and subsequent seasons beaming down after that. Each of the 178 episodes spanning The Next Generation's seven seasons will be transferred to true high-definition 1080p for release in the Blu-ray format and, eventually, for runs on television and digital platforms in the U.S. and across the world. Star Trek: The Next Generation will, as fans know, be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012.

“Fans have been clamoring for a high-definition release of Star Trek: The Next Generation," Ken Ross, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “Transferring the series to high-definition presented difficult technical challenges, but our team has come up with a process to create true 1080p HD masters with true HD visual effects. We can’t wait to show fans how pristine the series looks and sounds with our upcoming Blu-ray releases.”

CBS is, in fact, returning to the original film negatives, a mother lode of material encompassing 25,000-plus reels of footage, and editing the episodes together precisely as they were when they originally aired between 1987 and 1994. Visual effects will not be upconverted from videotape, but instead will be recompositioned. The freshly cut film will ultimately be transferred to high definition with 7.1 DTS Master Audio. And all of the work is being done in conjunction with respected, longtime Star Trek figures Denise and Michael Okuda, who are on board as consultants.

As for that sampler, it will be called Star Trek: The Next Generation -- The Next Level. CBS Home Entertainment has set a January 31, 2012, release date for the single disc, which will include the feature-length version of the series pilot, "Encounter at Farpoint," as well the fan-favorite episodes "Sins of the Father" and "The Inner Light," the former from season three and the latter from season five. The Next Level will sell for the suggested retail price of $21.99."

This, ladies and gentlemen is THE highlight of my day. I love Star Trek, I love Star Trek on Blu-ray, this is awesome news. I already currently own 2 out of 3 seasons of The Original Series, and I knew Next Gen would be remastered in Hi-Definition and released on Blu-Ray any day now, and Paramount has finally "Made it so". It's just a few episodes on one Blu-ray but I can't wait to watch it and see the new rendered ships and special effects, and then start getting the season sets.

Some More Marvel Universe Figures

So I have bought more Marvel Universe figures, yes more figures in a scale I don't fully endorse. Why?, well I have come to the conclusion that I love buying, playing with and collecting action figures, and besides the current Transformers Generations and DC Universe Classics I don't actively search for any other toy series, so I decided it was time to look at Marvel Universe since I highly enjoy their renditions of Cable and Apocalypse and as a life long Marvel fan I can't completely ignore the line's existence. Now In my defense I had full right to hate the Marvel Universe line at first because 1.) To me it was a new smaller, less detailed and articulated line that was replacing my beloved and long collected Marvel Legends, and 2.) Come on, you have to agree some of the first figures were fugly, and looked like Hasbro wasn't putting their full effort in to recreating character likeness and going for something cartoony.

I will never own any of these.

With that out of the way on to the pics and review, first off Iron Man in the current "Bleeding Edge" armor he's currently wearing in the comics is the figure that actually made me start thinking about starting to get more Marvel Universe, he's that greatly detailed, the metallic candy red and shiny gold really visually grab your attention.

The Mighty God of Thunder Thor, was on my short list of possible MU wants not only because I'm a huge fan of he's modern costume, but also because I want to assemble the core trinity of The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor all in their modern costumes. The Odinson has some wonderful detail, my two favorites are the sculpted squares on he's arms and leg, and that he's cape is actually hanging from the buttons on he's chest.

The Heroic Age Avengers

Now I got The Wrecker because I have interest in perhaps getting all the Marvel Universe Secret Wars Two-Packs which would give me the other three members of The Wrecking Crew, and what's the Wrecking Crew without their leader. Wrecker looks like he walked right out of the comic, he is perfectly represented in he's classic costume, and the snarl on he's face captures the super villain's malice spot on. Wrecker of course comes with he's enchanted crowbar which I think is nearly perfect, it's only missing another pry edge on the bottom, a crowbar, toy accessory or not it just doesn't look right with a flat squared bottom.

Now you may notice in pics two other figures I haven't posted about before, they are Heroic Age "Bucky" Captain America and U.S. Agent from the Captain America movie line I got a couple of weeks ago cause I really like Bucky-Cap's metallic paint and to start on the path of beginning the Avengers Trinity. U.S. Agent I've always been a fan for being a more brutal Captain America, my only real complaint on him is he could of use better designed arms with proper elbow and wrist articulation, and I really wish he came with he's round black and red shield instead of the eagle shaped one. So that brings me to a total of nine figures in the 3 3/4in. scale, good toy-god what have I gotten myself in to, once you start down the dark path...

A piece of advice: Don't become a toy collector, it's an extremely demanding, unforgiven, and expensive hobby.

Batman: Arkham City Joker Trailer

New The Thing Prequel Trailer

John Carpenter's The Thing is one of my all time favorite sci-fi/horror movies right under Ridley Scott's Alien. No movie then or even now can match The Thing's totally out of this world and disgusting creature effects that are just as haunting and frighting today as they were back in 1982, a true must own essential masterpiece. Can this new prequel live up to that greatness story and creature effect-wise and at the same time perfectly set up and sync details with Carpenter's tale? I for one really hope so, and hopefully at the same time bring some new awareness and appreciation of the legendary beloved original.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 Review

one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve.........

When I heard they were making a Dynasty Warriors game with Gundams and it was gonna be released in America I felt like things in the universe must of perfectly aligned to bestow such an awesome game to me and other Gundam Fans. Koei made an awesome game, a perfect fusion of the Dynasty Warriors gameplay with 50 foot robots finally making a Gundam game that actually made you feel like your were actually piloting a mobile suit but with a PS3 or 360 controller. Each mobile suit and their pilots fought just like you've known them to and wanted to, and has become one of the most addicting games to play to unlock absolutely everything.

So how does the third entry in DW:G match up against the previous two much loved games, well it has it's pluses and it's minuses. What did I like? I loved the new cel-shaded graphics, a great aesthetic that is perfect for an anime mech combat game, and the new addition of partner strikes and field-types really up the tactical thinking during a mission. I am personally psyched to finally play as the new suits of Deathsycthe Hell, Heavyarms, Tallgesse II, 00, XX, Unicorn, GP01, and GP02, all given their own unique fighting style and anime perfect attacks.

I'll get that Unicorn next time he comes around

Along with the new attractions there also comes some new "bumps" in the design, like my number one complaint the lack of a Lock-On button which was in the previous games, you don't know how infuriating it is to do your special attack towards an enemy Ace just for it to hit the wall beside him instead. Then there's these new fields that are mostly empty unless they have a building or parked ship in the center, and the actual terrain can be difficult to navigate at times and a lot of time you'll get caught on a rock or edge of a wall while trying to get to the next field, even if you flying in a flight mode high above the ground above said rock or wall. 2nd most annoying concerning fields is the removal of actual in space missions instead were restricted to being inside colonies, or on giant asteroids, I see no rational reason for this change, those were always my favorite missions to do, I mean come on where do most Gundam battles take place? IN SPACE!


Dually Time!

Now DW:G3 makes it simpler but not exactly easier this time around to make friends with the fellow pilots, at which all can become Operators to hear during missions, which to me is mostly worthless because most of them just say the same stuff they spout when their pilots like they're in the battle with you. Speaking of Operators, you can become friends with Rain, Relena, and Dianna but they never appear in missions or become operators, three people that would actually make sense to hear during missions WTH? A thing that was unsettling when first playing the game was some character had new voice actors different from the anime and the previous games namely Master Asia, Kamille, and Full Frontal, I've have grown accustom to Master Asia, and Kamille, but the game's Full Frontal is terrible, nowhere near the devilish calm of the OVA, he acts like a totally different character.

Death by Freedom Gundam is the right of all cannon fodder

Downloadable missions and mobile suit are available which I love, but each mission is a dollar and each suit being $6 bucks which I hate, cause I bought all of the suits, that's an additional $30 buck to the game which I already paid $60 for. What I don't understand is you can play as the downloaded mobile suits and pilots, but they don't appear as enemies, which would of been cool. Also the third game in and we get three more Gundam Wing mobile suits but still no Leos to kill, we get the GINNs for the three SEED suits to fight, but no Leos for the five Wing mobile suits, arg.

Heavyarms says: Missiles to the face!

In closing, this game could of been the best Dynasty Warriors: Gundam to date, but it's list of detractors leave DW:G2 as the king, even with it's hard friend making system. I can only hope for a fourth entry and they listen to these reviews from the fans and put some things back, and perhaps putting more Gundam and badass mobile suits like Gundam Altron and Gundam Sandrock from Wing, Gundam Alex and Kampfer from 0083, Gundam Ez8, and the Gouf Custom from 08th MS Team to name a few, hell I'd like to see suits from side stories like Full Armor Gundam and Gundam Crossbones. I would also like for them to removable a bunch of unwanted pilots and suits, like I don't want to play as Dozel or Fa or pilot a Zaku Tank of GM II, in my opion they just take disc space for more deserving suit and pilots.

Found a box of series 2, and thanks to a certain beneficial advantage I got the complete series series including the ultra rare figure. The advantage, knowing to look at the imprinted code on the back of the package on the right hand border. It's might be hard to see for some but it'll keep you from getting repeats.

So I had this cool random thought about Firefly the other day, beware if you haven't seen it or the movie Serenity I am about to talk about a major spoiler. If your a fan like me you were greatly surprised when Wash, awesomely played by Alan Tudyk, dies towards the end of Serenity. Like all Firefly fans I want Firefly to be revived again either as a tv series again or more movies, but I would like it to continue with Alan Tudyk, sure they could just make the new stories after the TV series but before the movie but I think I like my idea a better.

Have it that before he died Wash created a A.I. auto-pilot with he's memories and personality for the ship and it's now activated and can talk to the crew and be seen on monitors through out the ship. I think it would bring a great new dynamic interacting with Wash's widow Zoe, and Tudyk would just revel in the new kind of extension of he's character. If you come across this Josh Whedon please thinking about applying this, and thnak you for Firefly and Serenity.

Marvel Legends Gambit

7 year, I waited 7 years to have this figure and now I finally have Marvel Legends Series 4 Gambit. I love Marvel Legends, I currently have 143 not counting build-a-figures, X-Men, Spider-Man, & Fantastic Four Classics, movie figures, and Marvel Selects, then it's over 200 6 inch scale Marvel figures. My favorite and most memorial time of the X-Men was the early 90's Blue and Gold Teams, which I hope to one day to complete, just need to get 90's Beast, Rogue, and Colossus, but Toybiz or Hasbro hasn't made a 90's Jean Grey, that's why she'll be on the top of my ML wish list until she is made.

My 90's Team so far

Gambit has 38 points of articulation, a removable real cloth trench coat, a soft plastic staff, a "stream" of charged playing cards, and a highly detailed base of a damaged Sentinel arm. I love he's and all the other bases that came with the early Marvel Legends figures, you just don't see greatly sculpted and painfully detailed piece like those packed with action figures these days. Now a days it's all about build-a-figure pieces, which I don't mind, I love the build a figure concept, but if a figure doesn't come with a BAF part they should come with a awesome display base, something Hasbro should look into doing for the relaunch Marvel Legends in the future.

Toybiz really made a huge impact in the world of action figures with their Marvel Legends, something Hasbro's attempts never really matched. I don't want to say they half-assed their MLs, but I don't think they put enough, for lack of a better professional word, love in to their designs and execution and only saw to make money off the brand name and collector's hope to keep the line alive by buying their watered down attempts in hopes to one day they'll get better work, which only their last few 2 packs were more exceptional. Hasbro looks like they have learned from their mistakes and are listening to the fans, I can only hope their new line is much better when in hand and continues as a good seller.

Marvel Universe Deadpool & Taskmaster

For my next and hopefully last entry in Marvel Universe figures I acquired the Deadpool & Taskmaster Greatest Battles 2-pack.

At first I was a little disappointed in Deadpool's height compared to Cable, cause to me it looked he was a teenage sidekick, but I got use to it and enjoy Cable towering over Deadpool and other MUs. I love the small brown harness they gave Deadpool, it suits him so much better then the huge gray piece of the X-Men Origins version and gives a nice contrast to the red and black. This release of the Merc-With-A-Mouth only comes with two katana swords, a small knife, and a pistol which can all be stored on DP himself via he's harness, belt, and leg holster.

Doorknobs don't kill people, I kill people

Taskmaster comes in he's classic super-villain costume and is equipped with tons of weapons that include a shield, sword, bow, and a pistol. Tasky's quiver of arrows, and cape are removable if you pop off he's head, but that takes away from looks, so their best left in place. Taskmaster uses the older MU body of Captain America, so he's legs are a little tricky to pose to stand and the added weight of he's cape doesn't help sad to say, and also he's sword is pretty small, more like a oversized dagger then the broadsword it's spouse to be.

Just like Cap!

I am please with this release of Deadpool for now, but I hope in the future Hasbro makes a DP with a slightly bigger buck with the added articulation of swivel biceps, double jointed elbows, calf swivel, and rocker ankles, same goes for Taskmaster perhaps in he's UDON mercenary costume. I do feel Wade needed a extra weapon in the form of a SMG like a MP-5 maybe and I think I'm gonna add some dots to TM's eye to make him more comic accurate.This two pack comes with a reprint of Cable & Deadpool #36 where Deadpool frees Taskmaster from government capture to fight against him to show off he's mercenary skills, which was a highly enjoyable and funny read as is and Deadpool read.

Wow, I don't know what to think of this. It's doesn't look too terrible. I not even gonna say I have to think about it, cause as a Marvel movie devotee I will be there and will buy the Blu-Ray later, no matter how bad it is. I mean I sat through Green Lantern wearing a Green Lantern t-shirt and plastic Power Ring, and I'm still going to buy the Blu-Ray along with every other fan that it also disappointed. Be glad most you can say no I wait to rent it, for me that's not an option.

Hearing Dr. Strange's arcane sayings just sold me on him being in the game, and holy shit does Nemesis deal out some brutal tentacle and rocket inflicted pain.

OK, so the Tekken characters in the Street Fighter graphics are starting to grow on me, but I was still rooting for Kazuya to kick Ryu's ass.

Marvel Universe Cable & Apocalypse

First off, if I haven't said before I am not a huge supporter of the Marvel Universe line cause I prefer 6 inch figures over 3 3/4 inch figures, and that Marvel Universe was created to replace my much loved and heavy collected Marvel Legends. Then to rub salt in the wound Hasbro started releasing characters and costumes Marvel Legends fans have been wanting for years but in the 3 3/4 scale, ow. A last though I had to break down and buy a couple, if you haven't noticed by now I'm a huge Cable fan, so I had to pick up Cable and he's eternal nemesis Apocalypse.

Cable is shown here in the costume he begun wearing after the Messiah Complex storyline when he started protecting Baby Hope while jumping through time, which sports the X-Men colors of blue and yellow along with he's usual shoulder pads and pouches he's famous for. Cable comes with three beautifully detailed weapons of a pistol, a rifle, and he's Psimitar spear which I really grateful for. Cable is mostly the standard male buck, but with the addition of he's unique Techno-Organic arm, chest straps, belt, holster, and boot extensions definitely recreates Cable right out the pages of the comic.

En Sabah Nur makes he's Marvel Universe debut in he's costume seen in the Messiah War crossover storyline, there by perfectly fitting in with Cable as in the story. Only Apocalypse's main body and upper arms and legs are the "Big Guy" buck, but with just for him sculpted forearms, hands, and legs makes 50% of him brand new and completely unique while the additional should pads and belt complete he's attire. The Eternal One doesn't come with any accessories other then he's stand plaque, I would of loved some interchangeable weapon hands but I'll live, maybe the next Apocalypse. I do want to note the wires going from he's shoulder pads to he's gauntlets and the pads themselves impede he's arm articulation, so he's arm don't get much motion at all, but hey in visuals against playability I leans towards authentic recreation every time.

All and all, I really like these two guys, they're greatly detailed and full of articulation, but I have no intention to start full-on collecting more Marvel Universe figures, though I am thinking of picking up the Deadpool Vs. Taskmaster 2-pack to give Cable he's best/worst buddy good ol' Wade Wilson. Now enjoy some cool pics I enjoyed posing these guys in.

MG Gundam Ez8 Progress

Finally sat down today started putting together more of Master Grade Gundam Ez8. These two awesome legs took over 3 hours to compose, I don't even want to count how many pieces I cut out, sanded, detailed, and put together. A lot of small moving parts in he's legs were a new challenge unique to Ez8 which I will showcase when he's completed.

Want to share some amazing quotes from some of my favorite comics. Quotes that have stayed with me over the years or just have hit me as damn good characterization. Quotes that to this day I use even in every day conversation or if anything anywhere near reminds of them.

"Mercy is not dispensed here fools... only death!" (Straxus, Transformers #17) For a Deception Governor that only appear in two issues he was badass, but with sayings and actions like this made him greatly remembered 27 years later, and totally worthy of he's finally made action figure.

The quote is said multiple times through the series be that the last time is the one that is best defined by it. A quote you can hear me say very often and anytime I watch anything with Time Travel in it.

Guess that's thirty-one pieces of silver you've got now, huh? (Daredevil to Iron Man, Civil War #5) A powerful, and perfect way to convey exactly how those against the Superhero Registration Act think of Tony Stark. Epic, is what it was when I first read it.

I never called anyone a friend except Abin Sur, ... and then you. (Sinestro, Green Lantern #26) I don't know about other Green Lantern fans, but that hit me with all the emotional impact as if he was saying it directly to me. You actually start to almost understand Sinestro, and he's views and the way that he currently is.

You took the oath to seriously! You abandoned it!(Sinestro and Hal Jordan, Green Lantern: Rebirth #5) Yes, another quote from Green Lantern. In that one exchange it totally sums up everything you need to know of why they guys are fighting each other, and what they think of each other.

I LIKE IT! Wow, this is quite an awesome tease for a movie that's only in the early stages of pre-production and isn't gonna be released for two years, thank you Warner Bros. I am so freaking happy they when with the classics Superman costume, instead of the upcoming DCnu's Jim Lee design or the double blue toned Earth-One design. June 2013 can not get here fast enough to finally see the Superman film all Superman fans have been waiting for.

THE GHOSTBUSTERS!

With my acquisition of Ray Stanz from Mattycollector, I now have the the complete team of all four original Ghostbusters which is a real monumental achievement for me. I am a huge Ghostbusters fan, the the two movies and The Real Ghostbusters ruled my early childhood before comic books and video games came into my life. I had all the play equipment and all the action figures, vehicles, and even the Fire House.

As a kid I even had a rat tail like Egon from the cartoon had, guess who my favorite Ghostbusters is? When I heard that Mattel was gonna create a line of action figures based on the original movies I was ecstatic, to finally have 6 inch tall highly detailed and articulated 3D representations of Egon, Peter, Ray, and Winston it was a dream come true. Now I can only wish and hope that one day Mattel will repaint these guys with new heads and Neutrino Wands for the Proton Packs to make look like their Real Ghostbusters cartoon counterparts.

Marvel Mega Bloks Blind Packs

These have shown up at Wal-Mart building block aisles recently, and have started to become quite popular and sought after, and I'd have to agree, these are awesome. My first one I found misplaced in the trading card aisle, intrigued I had to buy it and see who it was, and to my surprise it was a bunch of silver and black pieces to assemble Armored Spider-Man. Since then I've bought three more, and simply by feeling the pieces through the package have acquired War Machine, Iron Man, and Venom.

These little guys are great, Iron Man and War Machine have sculpted in detail, I love how they made Venom bigger then the others, and each figure comes with 2-3 accessories. I really hope they continue making these blind packs, if you have friends that get them as well you can trading doubles like trading cards back in the day. I've got most of Series 1 just missing 3 more, looking forward to see more characters like from X-Men, and The Avengers, maybe Cable one day even.

2011 is the 20th anniversary of Chris Claremont and Jim Lee's X-Men (Vol.02) #1, so in celebration Marvel is releasing a recolored edition by colorist Thomas Mason in October. 20 years ago I was 7 years old, and I remember buying the original for $1.50 seeing that it was a new #1. I choose the cover with Wolverine and Cyclops on it, I still have it, a little beat up from hundreds of rereads and being thrown around everywhere before I started becoming a better comic book keeper and collector. I of course latter hunted down the glossier gate-fold cover edition to replace the tattered one that has all the X-Men charging in on Magneto witch is the one being recolored.

SDCC'11: DC Universe Series 20 & More

Like Hasbro with their Marvel Legends, Mattel was Comic-Con was showing off their DC Universe Classics with the reveal of Series 20, and the announcement of their Mattycolletor Club Infinite Earths subscription and exclusive figures. Let's checkout DC Universe Classics Series 20:

Dove: She was recently important in Blackest Night and Brightest Day so not surprised. Personally I hope we see Don Hall the original Dove down the road.
Hawk: Obvious addition since Dove is here. Sculpt looks great, could be a little bigger though.
Green Arrow (Modern): Now he's a surprise, but totally welcome. Sculpt looks dead on, even better the DC Direct detail.
Red Arrow: YES! Right of my wishlist to make the 2006 JLA roster.
Reverse Flash: No surprise with Flashpoint going on, and about time if you ask me. Stoked they included the lightning rod from Flash: Rebirth
Collect-n-Connect Nekron: The big baddie mastermind behind Blackest Night, and an addition to the Black Lanterns, I'm behind it.
White Lantern Flash and Sinestro Corps Sinestro was also announced to be in Series 20 but are said to be revealed at New York Comic-Con in October.

The Flash (Jay Garrick), Atrocitus, and Starman (Thom Kallor) are going to be Mattycollector online store exclusive singles in 2012. Which I don't think is a bad idea, as long as their not too expensive. I definitely want all three of these guys, Jay and Thom for the Justice Society, and Atrocitus to lead the Red Lanterns, can't wait.

Also Arkham City Harley Quinn, Joker and Robin were revealed, Harley appears to be a single card release in the Batman Legacy series, while Joker and Robin are packaged as a two-pack.

Captain America: The First Avenger Review

BEWARE SPOILERS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Thank you Marvel Studios, Thank you Joe Johnston, and thank you Chris Evans for finally giving us a genuine serious Captain America movie. For those who worried about Chris Evans being Steve Rogers, he did great, he made a truly believable and relateable super soldier. Like Tom Hiddleston as Loki in Thor, Hugo Weaving is freaking perfect as Red Skull, masterfully translated from page to screen German accent and all.

Tommy Lee Jones was a real highlight of the film, he's every line was a riot, further proof having a A-List actor in a supporting role is a great move of stealing the scene but not stealing the movie. There was a great easter egg for eagle eyed Marvel fans of the original android Human Torch Jim Hammond at the Modern Marvels of Tomorrow expo. I give The First Avenger 8 out of 10 Cosmic Cubes, only really a couple smalls things like I thought could of been better like I would of like to have seen Cap exactly train to fight and learn how he could ricochet he's shield and I feel Bucky was under used and quickly killed not long after he's rescue.

Fans and I know we'll see Bucky return as The Winter Soldier, and the Red Skull has to come back either in a Captain America sequel or future Avengers film. Speaking of The Avengers, make sure to stay after the credits to see The Avengers teaser trailer that will just blow you away, every hero looks great, oh and the return of Loki. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

Cable Reborn

Wow, it's been a year since Cable died at the end of Second Coming crossover in X-Force #28, and now he'll be back in under six months, awesome. I have complete faith that Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness, great writer and great artist can bring back Cable is in a not-cheap kickass must read way. December the Askani'son returns, damn that wasn't long but he's #1 fan isn't complaining.

SDCC'11: Marvel Legends Relaunch

Yesterday was San Diego Comic-Con 2011's Preview Night so last night and today we are getting pictures from the floor of up and coming action figures, the ones I'm the most psyched to see are the new Marvel Legends scheduled to come out in 2012. Over the next few days expect my blogs to relate to something revealed at Comic-Con. So with these pics thanks to Marvelous News and Action Figure Pics we see Series 1, with Series 2 to be shown soon too.

Commander Steve Rogers: Yes! He was on my short list of wants for this new line. Love that damn costume.
Constrictor: Sweet, a long time wanted villain by many collectors.
Ghost Rider (Modern Danny Ketch): OK, don't know if anyone really wants him, but cool. I mean I love the 90's Danny Ketch Ghost Rider, but not a fan of he's new look.
Hope Summers: Aye, so this goes back to an old argument of should recently new to the Marvel Universe characters show up in a action figure line titled Marvel Legends, and I say nay. Hope is far too new, and takes a spot that should of went to another long awaited more deserving character.
Iron Man (Extremis Armor): Cool, fans have been waiting for the armor ever since Civil War. Now Civil War displays will be accurate, and another armor to Tony's Armory.
Klaw: Another great long awaited Fantastic Four and Avengers villain most welcomed.
Thor (Modern): Looks great, but I still have to say the Marvel Select version is bigger and better, sorry Hasbro. I'll put him the Avengers display I guess, while MS Thor will stay in the Thor display.
Build-a-Figure Terrax: He's was revealed to be the BAF awhile ago so no surprise there. He does look good though, just hope they redesign he's hands to hold he's axe by he's release.

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

I hate you Capcom, you know I am gonna have to buy this. Two-thirds of the new Marvel character are enough to make me give you $40 for this, hell you probably would of had me at just Ghost Rider. 12 more characters, 8 new levels I'm all for, but tweaked programing I'm not sure about, I found MvsC3's control to be perfect, and I noticed in one video Captain America's Shield Sash didn't go all the way across the screen only a short distance and then back, not cool I loved that move. So stoked for Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, and Nova, but come on Dr. Strange has never been a hand-to-hand combatant, and Rocket Raccoon should of been Silver Surfer.

Virgil for Capcom's side is awesome, Nemesis hell yeah, Strider I take him he's from the original two, but Phoenix Wright, Frank West, and Firebrand are weak picks from Capcom great history of video game characters. Still highly disappointed you haven't brought in Cable for this edition or as downloadable content, but hey knowing you you'll probably release another updated version with him in it and you'll make me buy this game for a third time. Hopefully controls and moves aren't tampered with too much, cause this is gonna be great to fight friends online again with more characters and levels to brawl with.

Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Trailer

Wow, we exactly get to see Peter's parent in this one, that's a cool subplot I want to see how they factor it in this movie or if it's something for the next sequel. The first-person wall crawling and web swinging looks awesome, now I only hope that we get the ol' always wisecracking on the bad guys Spidey that we didn't get in the last three films. I didn't see one bad characterization in that trailer, I think this film has a perfect cast, I await to see who playing Norman Osborn cause you know he's gonna be set up to be the Green Goblin for the next movie.

If you haven't seen them here's some new pics of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. I have to say the new costume is starting to grow on me, but I am still hoping for the classic design by the end of the movie or in the next one.
