Iron Man Anime Movie & Heroes United Trailers

I still haven't seen any of the Marvel Anime yet, hear Iron Man is the best out of the bunch, and Rise of Techovore is looking to be awesome and definitely worthy of being the first feature length anime movie. I'm wondering though if this movie is a sequel to the Iron Man anime series or suppose to fit in the Iron Man/Avengers movie universe. Heroes United on the other hand is looking horrible, I was hoping for something better then Invincible Iron Man, but it look like it's on par or worse than it, I honestly don't even know if I'm going to buy it now.

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost Movie Trailer

Revealed to have the release date of Dec. 28th this year, and that Freddie Prinze Jr. is indeed reprising he's role as James Vega, joining a great cast of veteran voice actors. Set during the time after Commander Shepard was thought lost and The Collectors starting to attack human colonies, we get to see what Vega did before joining Shepard's team on The Normandy in Mass Effect 3. This looks great, finally seeing the Mass Effect universe in a different medium, and hopefully the first in a beginning of more expansion in to other media, I'd love more anime movies or perhaps a sweet all CGI movie, here's hoping.

Gundam Unicorn Ep.5 "Black Unicorn" Trailer 2

The second to last episode of the OVA series will be out on DVD and Blu-Ray on June 8th. In the trailer you can hear this episode's theme song Broken Mirror by Boom Boom Satellites. After Unicorn is done I really hope Bandai looks in to animating Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop in a similar one-hour per episode OVA series, we Gundam fans need Heero Yuy in our lives again.

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost Teaser

Not much of a teaser, mostly character sketches we've already seen online just to official Mass Effect music, and the title revealed. I hope this movies does really, cause I would like to see another one along the lines of The Animatrix, Batman: Gotham Knights, and Halo Legends, different tales each with a different art style by different production companies, each tale would be a different version of Shepherd. Can't wait to hear when this is going out on Blu-Ray, Anime + Mass Effect = Liquified Brain.

Gundam Unicorn Episode 4 Review

Episode 4: "At The Bottom of the Gravity Well"
With this episode we're now 2/3's through the six episode OVA series, and just like the previous three episodes it has the most glorious Mecha combat action you won't see anywhere else, graphic mech violence and environment destruction right on par with the new Evangelion movies. Even more mobile suits from past series, and even suits never seen in animation before appear for the huge battle in this episode like the Nemo, Guncannon Detector, Aqua GM, and GM Semi-Striker on the Earth Federation side, while Zeon suits like the Capule from ZZ Gundam, and the Zogok, Juaggu, and Dwadge only ever seen in MS Variation books were all pleasures to see in action. My two favorite suits that dished out some awesome damage on the field were the Earth Federation's Byarlant Custom for taking out the most enemy suits single handily while most GMs and Nemos got easily slaughtered and Zeon's Efreet Schneid just for being one of my personal favorite side story Zeon MS and he's cool ninja kills he got in.

This episode focuses alot on why the Earth Federation and Remnants of Zeon hate each other and continue fighting and how it is continuous cycle of revenge for revenge, and hints of what might be in Laplace's box. I felt Riddhe's sudden feelings for Mineva came out of nowhere, I mean there was just no evidence, and suddenly after he's father say he must of fallen for her to bring her there he suddenly starts to believe it, WTH? I also want to say again I really wish they could of got Michael Kopsa to voice Full Frontal cause he gave a speech in this episode and he sounded more like Zechs Merquise from Gundam Wing, I know he is not Char but he is suppose to give off the appearance that he is, which in the Japanese audio both characters are voiced by the same voice actor perfectly portraying that, just something lost in dubbing I guess I'm going to have to live with.

If you love brain cell exploding cliffhangers, episode 4 ends with the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam "Banshee" being airdropped in, making this the last thing you see before the credits:

Best of 2011

I know it 2 months in to 2012, but it only now hit me to sit down and make a quick list of my favorite things that came out of 2011.

Best Movie of 2011: X-Men: First Class 

If you read my review for the movie then you know I hold First Class as a damn near perfect example of a comic book team/friends/family brought to life realistically but still holds the core fundamentals and characteristics that you love and value.

Best TV Series: 

Stargate Universe & Terra Nova

SGU's first season was kinda rough, it was leaning towards being a Battlestar Galactica clone, and the emotional/indie/alternative song at the end of episode really annoyed me, but season 2 really found it's feet, we got better character development and the action was upped, it started to be it's own original show, then it got cancelled, damn you SyFy. I got say Terra Nova also was the best TV series, I mean come on: Time Travel, Dinosaurs, and Stephen Lang, it really turned out to be a great family drama in a sci-fi setting kinda like a modern Lost In Space, I really do hope Fox renews it for a second season.

Best Video Game: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I know I haven't written a review for this game, but trust me I've tried, but I find it extremely difficult to summarize what I like about this game, which is everything. I LOVE this game, I haven't fallen for a game this hard since the first Mass Effect. If you haven't played this game yet, disregard anything bad you've heard and go buy or rent it right now, it is awesome, it has a little bit of everything for everybody from FPS, to stealth, to role playing with a deep engaging story, and spectacular graphics.

Gundam Episode 3 &4  & Gundam AGE

Didn't watch much new anime in 2011, but as a huge Gundam fan you know I watched the new Gundam Unicorn OVAs and started watching Gundam AGE the latest TV series. Episodes 3 and 4 of Unicorn were freaking mind numbly beautiful and action packed as the previous two. Gundam AGE is unique in being a new ongoing series in being more aimed toward a younger audience with more colorful character designs, and not being as violent or psychologically damaging to characters but still conveys the same message about the atrocities of War, reasons to fight, and relationships made during as all the others. The Second Generation of the story is upping the action and testing the lines between friendship and enemy, it almost feels like a completely new Gundam show, nice going Bandai, keep it up.

Best Album: Rise Against-Endgame

I really like Rise Against and a lot of their songs, but I can say I don't like every single song off their previous five albums, but with Engame I love all twelve songs on it, I always listen to the album straight through. I mean I can't pick just one favorite song off the album, I think all twelve are equally perfect, and they are now my top 12 favorite songs from Rise Against. 

Best Action Figure: Marvel Universe Cable

Yep, my favorite cyborg mutant and the one figure the started me collecting the 3 3/4 inch scale Marvel Universe is my favorite action figures of 2011. Articulation, sculpt, accessories, paint, all make Cable THE Marvel Universe figure in which all others are compared to.

It's only two months in to 2012, and I know I already have two movies fighting for #1, and the best video game already picked. Now let's what else 2012 brings me...

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Movie

Hmm, looks like an alternate reality, you can see the new characters Akito and Reira, and I believe I saw Jeremiah, an insane Suzaku, and a chick that looks like Lelouch. New mecha and CGI action looks great, especially Akito's Alexander kicking ass. The movie will screen in 10 select theaters throughout Japan early this summer, also Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, the producer of the Code Geass anime franchise, has announced that a film adaptation of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is planned as well.

Blood-C: The Last Dark Teaser

I have seen and love Blood: The Last Vampire and Blood+, haven't watched Blood-C yet. I don't know if this movie is a sequel to the Blood-C TV series but to me it looks like a new re-telling of the story in The Last Vampire in a modern setting. The movie won't be out in Japan 'til June 2nd 2012, so that should give me enough time to re-watch everything including Blood-C and maybe even the live-action movie I haven't watched yet either.

009 Re:Cyborg Trailer

Wow!, simply wow. I watched the 3rd TV series on Cartoon Network back 2003 and highly enjoyed it, and this movie look to be an even more extreme and modern update. Can't wait, hope it get's a simultaneous release American release, I'd love to see this in theaters, dub or no dub, then own it on blu-ray.

June DVD Anticipation

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights (June 7th) Definitely day one pick up for me on Blu-Ray. Another great DC Universe animated movie sure not to disappoint.

(June 14th) A movie I wanted to see in theaters but missed. Want to see but might rent Blu-Ray before deciding to buy.

(June 14th) Has Liam Nesson in it? A must see for me, and if it's anywhere as good as Taken then it will become a welcome part of my movie collection.

Galaxy Express 999

(June 28th) Yes! Finally! Anime fans and I have by waiting for this movie and it's sequel to be released on DVD for a very long time. It seems to be subtitled only not including the English dub I'm used to hearing, but I'm still over joyed it's coming out.

(June 28th) I'm not sure if I'll be able to find both DVDs in normal retail so I'll probably end up getting them off Amazon.

  

Rideback Complete Series

(June 28th) Watched this series on my computer, really enjoyed it. Not your normal Mech anime, has a really nice mix of drama, and action perfectly told across twelve episodes. Can't wait to hear the dub voices.

Sucker Punch

Another movie I really wanted to see in theaters but missed. So this movie is a Blu-Ray must have for me.

Pic of the Day 04/25

Captain Harlock, one of the most badass anime characters EVER! Before Goku, Heero Yuy, Alucard, Kenshin, there was this man above of all men who was a true inspiration to all he's friends, crew, and otakus alike. I first saw Captain Harlock in the anime movie Galaxy Express 999, the scene that forever etched him in to my brain was towards the end, coming in to save the main characters standing atop of he's pirate ship The Arcadia with all cannons and guns firing, steering it with a wooden wheel, dodging incoming enemy fire all with a huge skull & crossbones flag behind him. PURE OLD SCHOOL ANIME AWESOME!

X-Men Anime Opening

This is true fricking beauty to me, two of my most favroite things in my life as one. My anticipation for is indescribable, Iron Man anime: cool, Wolverine anime: cool, X-Men anime: universe must actually like in some small way to allow this to exist while I am alive.

Gundam Unicorn Episodes 1-3 Review

Mobile Suit: Gundam Unicorn
It is the year U.C. 0096, three years has passed since the end the second Neo-Zeon war which ended with influential Newtype pliots Amuro Ray and Char Azanable being listed as K.I.A. after Neo-Zeon's last attack on Earth. This story introduces us to 16 year old Banagher Links a young engineering student living on Industrial 7 space colony, when remnants of Neo-Zeon called "The Sleeves" arrive at the colony to retrive "The Key to Laplace Box" from the elusive Vist Foundation. Banagher saves the life of a mysterious girl name Audrey Burne, who he has an uncontrollable devotion to help her in her quest to talk to the head of the Vist Foundation.

When the Sleeves decided to try to take "The Key" by force and starting fighting Earth Federation forces inside and outside the colony, the confusion and destruction around him leads Banagher in the cockpit of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and the beginning of him learning he's past and he's destiny in opening Laplace's Box, that could either destroy relations to space or forever bring peace.

Episode 1: "Day of The Unicorn"
There is one thing this episode had in spades that looks like it'll be a staple for every episode is the Mech action, I mean you can't have a Gundam series without Mobile Suit battles, but Unicorn does it with a classic meets hi-def style that out shines even the fights in Gundam 00 (which I also highly enjoyed). I really think it has to do with the Universal Century's type of Mobile Suits and their weaponry of just beam sabers, beam rifles, missiles, and machine guns, nothing too powerful, battles being won more on the skills and tactics of the pilots then on machines capabilities and most importantly there was only ever one Gundam at a time unlike in the Alternate Gundam universes (Wing, G, SEED, 00) that usually had anywhere from 4-10 Gundams on one or both sides dominating the battlefield. So after saying that I can say this OVA series not only is a new story set in the Universal Century but also pays great respect to the type of storytelling, character motivations and mech desgin and fighting that was laid before in the previous U.C. Gundam tales of the One Year War, Zeta Gundam, and Char's Counterattack.

Episode 2: "The Second Coming of Char"
This episode introduces the new antagonist of Full Frontal who is called "The Second Coming of Char" cause of he's ability of piloting he's red mobile suit the Sinanju at three times the normal speed of other mobile suits, appears to be a Newtype and also of he's blond hair and red uniform. People also recognize he's voice and even when unmasked looks identical to Char Aznable right down to the scar between he's eyes, but could Char have survived the event of  the Psycoframe fueled pushing of the Axis asteroid out of Earth's atmosphere three years ago? I really loved hearing and seeing Full Frontal in this episode, he's english voice actor, Keith Silverstein, does an excellent job sounding like the One Year War Char, but I wish they could of got Michael Kopsa who provided Char's vioce for the original series and the Char's Counterattack movie back cause Full Frontal sounded great as charismatic pilot and captain, but is missing that great leader and Newtype idealist tone that should of been there that would of made us better believe this is the same Char.

Episode 3: "The Ghost of Laplace"
A lot of cool stuff in this episode, like appearances of enemy mobile suits from previous series like the Dreissen, Geara Doga, Drac-C, and Gaza-D for the fans to find, for me it was awesome seeing the new Delta-Plus is action, which is an evolution of the Hyaku Shiki with an added Waverider flight mode. I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure the Kshatriya's Psycoframe cockpit is the same exact one form Char's Sazabi's from the way it was described, so it adds a little more possible evidence to the Char/Full Frontal connection. I have to give props to ECOAS Commander Daguza just like in episode 1 he's not afraid to straight up just go and shoot a mobile suit in the face with a hand held rocket launcher, this time at Full Frontal's Sinanju. Another great moment in this episode is getting some background on Marida Cruz, which is a great connection to the ZZ Gundam tv series.

I know my "reviews" haven't revealed a lot about the actual story of what happen in each episode, I wanted to stick to what I liked about each episode, and opinion on things cause if you are a Gundam fan then you most likely already seen or read up on what happened or know from information of the original novel stories and also didn't want to spoil to much for any that haven't seen it yet. If you haven't, then if your any kind of Gundam fan, or Mech anime fan you should definitely need to watch these, it scores 10 out of 10 on ever possible scale of rating. 

X-MEN ANIME!!!

Woah, woah, woah. An X-Men anime, holy shit this is almost too awesome to be true, but it is. I mean I heard news they were gonna make one, but seeing this makes it fricking real, hell yeah! X-Men Anime, just those two word together make nearly cream my pants. Oh, this gonna be great, I can't wait to see this.
