[Actress Adrianne Palicki, best known for her role as Tyra Collette on the critically-acclaimed high school football drama Friday Night Lights, has just been announced as the new Wonder Woman for the upcoming David E. Kelley scripted TV series based on the DC Comics superheroine.Hmm, interesting. I'll give the series a shot, we'll need a weekly DC superhero live-action TV series after Smallville ends this year, but I won't have high hopes since NBC's complete miscarry and failure at a new Bionic Woman TV series years ago. So I'm guessing they'll probably be going with the new Jim Lee redesigned costume from the comics then the classic red, blue and gold bathing suit to make the show more reality based.
The 27-year-old Palicki, who stands at an Amazonian 5'11 and listed reading comic books as an interest in her Friday Night Lights bio, will be playing no less than three different roles in one, according to the casting report at TV Line:
• The titular crimefighter, "reinvented" here as an L.A.-based vigilanteKelley and Bill D'Elia ("Boston Legal," "The Practice") are the executive producers. The will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner (NBC's "The Event"). "Wonder Woman"
• Alter ego No. 1: Diana Themyscira, a mega-billionaire CEO
• Alter ego No. 2: Diana's "plain Jane" assistant, Diana Prince.is from David E Kelley Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Palicki, who appeared as Tyra Collete in NBC"s acclaimed "Friday Night Lights," will star in the upcoming feature-film remake of Red Dawn.]
