Marvel Legends News

Some news from Toyfair 2011 has actually surprised me with some Marvel Legends reveals:

-New 6" figures War Machine The Initative, Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man.
- Modern Thor 6" figure will be the first Marvel Legends in the Legends launch.

 - Marvel legends for Spring of 2012 will see 6" Ultimate Hawkeye, and Heroic Age Bucky Cap.

- Build A Figure will be back with Terrax, these figures will be in single cards. More to come on these later in the year.
I'm definitely excited about most of these characters, don't really care for Ultimate Hawkeye, talk about a spot that could of went to some better and more wanted. New War Machine and Iron Man villains are gonna be sweet additions, and I've been itching for a Bucky Captain America every since I first sure that costume. Terrax is an excellent choice for a Build-A-Figure, another Fantastic Four villain is always welcome.

So with modern Cap and Thor revealed, I'm hoping modern "Bleeding Edge" Iron Man, and Commander Steve Rogers: Super Soldier isn't far behind.

Who do I want to see coming out in 2012? My top three that are  really high on my list: Stryfe, Jean Grey (Jim Lee), and Taskmaster (UDON).

Generation 2 Megatron = MINE!

Pic from auction
Oh, glorious day, I have finally obtained one of my most quested after Transformers: Generation 2 Megatron, and in pristine MISB condition off Ebay for the decent price of $56. I have been longing for this figure for nearly 20 years, to me he is the most perfect rendition of the Decepticon leader. I last held this figure when I was 9 years old in a KB Toys, so this is a real monumental achievement to me personally as a Transformer fan and toy collector.

Megatron 2.0
An excerpt from Megatron's Transformers Wiki page:
"Although thought dead for a year or two, Megatron had actually survived the Ark crash, and had quietly worked to repair it, concealing it beneath the ground. From there, Megatron tracked a signal, mistakenly believing it was another Transformer, but instead he found the shape-shifting castle of the terrorist organization, Cobra. He entered into a bargain with its leader, Cobra Commander, offering him the technology of the Ark in exchange for the new weapons his organization was developing. Reconstructed into a new tank body with a powerful rail gun, Megatron defeated a squad of Autobots sent to stop him, and then turned on Cobra, and escaped in the Ark.

He Will Tread On You
Oh yes, I am gonna open him, I can't wait to display him next to my Powermaster Optimus Prime. Expect pics, and a review on G2 Megs as soon as he arrives.

X-Men: First Class Teaser Trailer

Woah! That was awesome, I am now officially freaking psyched for this movie. Holy shit was that Magneto in a full head to toe red costume? A SR-71 Blackbird in the 60's, and we get to see Beast further mutation. That look better then all previous X-Men movies put together, watching that trailer made feel how I felt when I saw the very first X-Men movie trailer.

From the look of this trailer this movie is looking like it's gonna replace X2: X-Men United as my favorite X-Men movie. Can't wait to see the full theatrical trailer.

Happy Birthday Bruce Timm

Today is the 50th birthday of a great industry icon, a man who's birthday is sure to be celebrated by watching he's work, and that man is Bruce Timm. If you don't know who he is, he is the man who is in my most  honest opinion singlehandily most responsible for keeping DC Comics in business, how you ask? By he's awesome work on the animated series and features; Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, all the DC Universe animated movies, and the upcoming Green Lantern CGI animated series as character designer, animator, and producer.

So even though he has no part in the comic book department of DC, or even the company proper, I believe the work he has done and is currently doing is what introduces, re-introduces, and keeps continuing interest in many, if not most of DC's characters. So I see Bruce Timm as a gateway for not just for the great works he himself has done, but also for unknowingly generating the interest and demand that has given us:

-Movies like Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Green Lantern, the upcoming Superman movie, and the many more DC superhero movie down the line.

- Video games like Batman: Arkham Asylum and DC Universe Online.

- The DC Universe Classics, DC Universe Infinite Heroes, and DC Direct action figure lines.

- Last, but not least the continuing production of DC Comic books, which a lot of stories from he's TV series were adapted from, and vise versa, stuff he help to create making it in the comics.

So happy birthday Bruce, and many more to you, and most of all thank you for all you hard work and dedication over the years. To see some he's great hand drawn work just type he's name in Google or Bing.

Future Custom Model Kit

GM Custom "Custom"

Thinking of doing a custom painted Gundam model kit, the suit in question the RGM-79N GM Custom from the Gundam 0083 OVA series. With the white and blue scheme I going for a Knightly Protector of the peace feel. I'll start looking into what I need to make it, the kit itself and spray paint colors, etc., after I complete my Master Grade Ez8, so it's still a couple builds away.

RX-78-3 Gundam G-3 Completed

Completed the weapons yesterday, and finished the detail up today. Still gonna put some decals on him, but he's practically done. No problems or complaints about this build, nice, simple and easy. I did do a little unique custom paint choices, left the shield cross gray instead of painting it yellow, gray instead of yellow on the crotch mark, and put blue in the Beam Rifle scope.

Now I'm on to my next build the Zaku II F2.

"You do not know who you are fucking with!"
Holy fanboy epicness, it that cool or what? The Dark Lord of the Sith taking on a horde of Xenomorphs.

Also my home computer has crashed, so I don't how many updates I'm gonna be doing for while. Hopefully I can get it fixed, and this will only be a temporary hiatus.

Upcoming 2011 Games

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (Feb.15, 2011)
This game has looked awesome since day one, I was ecstatic when I heard they were gonna make a 3rd game after 10 year. As I said before I'm a huge fan Marvel and Capcom, and lover of the previous two MvsC games. This is an istant day one buy for me, checkout the opening intro above.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 (Summer 2011)
Oh yeah, new Gundams massacring cannon fodder mobile suit by the hundreds. Can't wait to play this, especially to play as the new Gundams; 00 Raiser, Deathsycthe Hell, Heavyarms, Unicorn, and many more. For your viewing pleasure the opening movie from the Japanese release.

Mortal Kombat (Apr.19, 2011)
Ah, good ol' Mortal Kombat, what can I say, I've loved Mortal Kombat since I played the first one SNES. I have played every sequel as my favorite character Sub-Zero, own most of them, and since this one looks to the best one ever I must has it. Checkout the new MK's new X-Ray moves.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (April 2011)
Another game from a series of games I've played and highly enjoyed, this one being a prequel to Deus Ex 1&2. Wow this game looks amazing, just checkout this trailer.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Summer 2011)
I'm a huge Tekken fan ever since Tekken 3 addicted me to the series, so any Tekken game is a must have for me. Tekken Tag Tournament to this day is still favorite Tekken to play, but it might be TTT2. Can't wait to see what's up with the whole young Haihaci Mishima thing.

My Top 6 Favorite Games of 2010

Mass Effect 2
First of all let me say I freaking love Mass Effect 1&2, I originally got ME1 cause it was made by Bioware, who also made two of my favorite Star Wars games, Knights of The Old Republic 1&2. Mass Effect 2 just builds on and improves what ME1 laid down, to me it's the perfect sci-fi action RPG, and what I love about the game is it let's you highly customize your characters, and your every action alters the story, but it doesn't play like an RPG, it play more like a third-person shooter, no turn base attacking for these bad-asses. Fricking epic enthralling story, pristine near-life-like graphics, improved combat system, and downloadable content and missions galore makes ME2 my game of the year.

Dante's Inferno
This game was fun, I played Dante's Inferno while waiting for God of War III to come out, and I loved it. A lot of people simply dismiss this game as God of War ripoff, sure it have very similar combat system, but it has it's own great story derived from a classic piece of literature, and it was perfectly adapted to make this game without straying too far from the essential characters and story. I had so much fun with this game I played it three times back to back, just to play on every difficulty and complete both sets of good and evil attacks. The ending sets up a sequel, so I can't wait to hear about the next one. If you love the God of War games, then you'll also love Dante's Inferno.

God of War III
Ripping Helios's head off in the demo made want to play the God of War games, I had to know how violent Kratos was in the previous games, and why he hated the Gods so much. So knowing GoW3 was coming out soon I picked up the PS3 remaster of GoW1&2 since I never played them. After I beat those, and got the story it was time to play #3, and wow was it brutally awesome. God for War III delivered, delivered pain that is, lots and lots of pain giving, and blood letting, just killing gods and monsters left and right all the way to Zeus himself. GoW3 was fun, but hard at times, but still highly addicting, if you died you just wanted to get back in there take down that son of a bitch that made you restart at a save point.

Transformers: War for Cybertron
As a Transformers fan I had to get this, this was the game we Transformer fans have been waiting for, a serious hardcore 'bot vs. 'bot shoot'em up. This game was specifically tailored to the fans, like having Peter Cullen and Frank Welker voice Optimus Prime and Megatron, a prequel story that fits nicely in G1 continuity, and a sweet ending song by Stan Bush. The games use of transformations, and multiple weapons to choose from, along with a story that is truely fitting the Transformers-type of stories from the old 80's cartoon just makes this a TransFan must have.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II
I don't want to say this game was disappointing, but I was disappointed in it. After playing and loving TFU1, and drooling over the awesome looking trailers I was hyped for this game, only to play it and beat it's 4.1 levels in 5 hours the day it came out. From the trailers we get the impression we're going after the Empire to take down Darth Vader and The Emperor, we have Boba Fett on our ass, gonna get some training from Yoda, all while looking for Juno, BUT what do we get: escape from Kamino, quick scene with Boba Fett, go rescue Kota, quick scene with Yoda, battle on Rebel ship, back to Kamino to face Vader, the end. Don't get me wrong this game had some cool stuff in it, and sweet new two Lightsaber combat system, but the story was rushed and short, and not as original and connected to the rest of the Star Wars universe as the previous one was.

Final Fantasy XIII
This was my very first Final Fantasy game, the first in the series to exactly catch my attention enough to make want to buy and play it. My only previous encounter with turn based RPGs was Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic, so this game was filled with all kinds of new loves and hates of game playing, and ways of thinking not only of RPGs but of the games unique battle system. I love the games story, characters, spectacular cutscenes and the Paradigm Shifting battle system but it is a really really long game, and it takes a long time to get from place to place, and to level up enough to survive not just boss battles but also wild encounters. I still haven't beat this game, I'm about 3 quarters through it, I took a break from it a few months and haven't picked back up yet, one day though, you know before XIII-2 comes out.
