Transformers: Dark of the Moon Trailer

HOLY SHIT! Michael Bay is not messing around this time, this one looks like it's pure serious life and death all out war. This is definitely going to be THE BEST movie of the year. I don't think were going to need to ever watch Transformers 1 or 2 ever again, cause Dark of The Moon is going to be the best 'bot movie of them all.

New X-Men: First Class Trailers!

Sweet, sweet, fricking awesomeness. I think I now want to see this film even more than Thor and Captain America. Both trailers unveil new footage that just tantalizes us more and more with bits of information and characters. This looks to hopefully revive the franchise and starting kicking off more X-Men movies in the future.

Pic of the Day 04/25

Captain Harlock, one of the most badass anime characters EVER! Before Goku, Heero Yuy, Alucard, Kenshin, there was this man above of all men who was a true inspiration to all he's friends, crew, and otakus alike. I first saw Captain Harlock in the anime movie Galaxy Express 999, the scene that forever etched him in to my brain was towards the end, coming in to save the main characters standing atop of he's pirate ship The Arcadia with all cannons and guns firing, steering it with a wooden wheel, dodging incoming enemy fire all with a huge skull & crossbones flag behind him. PURE OLD SCHOOL ANIME AWESOME!

Check out this vid below with some footage from that, and then try not to say you would not fellow that man in to any situation.

Masters of The Universe Classics Panthor

Behold the savage steed of Skeletor The Evil Lord of Destruction, Panthor! Of course having Battle Cat I had to get Panthor to make He-Man and Skeletor equally accessorized, and oh boy is he an awesome addition to my Masters of The Universe Classics collection. I must appalled the Four Horsemen on their sculpting on the new head and helmet, damn magnificence.

Great for going to a staff Meeting
or to ax an employee or He-Man

Who wants to butt heads with me now?
Just chillin'

Hence forth, you shall be Panthor
What do you mean were out of Jumbo Meow Mix?
SMILE!
The fur is about to fly... and blood
Just another day on Eternia

Green Lantern: Wanted: Hal Jordan Reveiw

GL: Wanted: Hal Jordan (Vol.04 #14-20)
This story beings with Hal having a nightmare about Abin Sur which lead in to he's memories of what exactly happened one year ago when he and he's fellow Air Force pilots, "Cowgirl", and "Rocket Man" were shot down, becoming prisoners of war in the terrorist camp, and how they escaped months later. The next day Hal learns that "Cowgirl" was sent back in to Chechnya to take out the terrorist base but was shot down again, Hal runs out and becomes Green Lantern to go rescue her. By crossing into Chechnya Hal has got the attention of Russia's Rocket Red Brigade that enforces the Freedom of Power Treaty which limits super-heroes to only their home nations, which Green Lantern has broken multiple times.

Unknown to Green Lantern at the time is Amon Sur, the criminal son of Hal's predecessor Abin Sur, has hired multiple alien bounty hunters to bring Hal Jordan to him so he could claim he's father Green Lantern ring. With he's ring Hal makes easy work of the terrorist camp, and is about to rescue Cowgirl when he is attacked by the Global Guardians who are being controlled by Klarmarian Faceless Hunters , then he is surprisingly helped by the Rocket Reds who want Hal for themselves. Then the Justice League of America shows up to help Hal, and demands some answers on what is going on, Hal quickly explains to Alan Scott as goes looking for Cowgirl who ran in to the forest during the commotion, only to finally get her and her recognize Hal is Green Lantern, to be get knocked out by another alien bounty hunter Hunger Dog.

Hal is brought before Amon Sur in the Californian desert outside Coast City were Abin Sur was buried, but just as Amon is about to kill Hal Hunger Dog reveals himself to actually be fellow Green Lantern John Stewart who quickly disarms Amon. A depowered Hal and Amon get in to a fist fight, but suddenly a yellow power ring slips on to Amon's hand and welcomes him to The Sinestro Corps and it teleported away. After all is smoothed over between nations and teams, Hal finally returns Abin Sur's remains and spaceship to he's home planet of Ungara.

Next the Star Sapphire crystal falls to Earth and begins jumping from woman to woman trying to find Hal Jordan, finally possessing Carol Ferris but when it realizes Hal is now in love with Jillian "Cowgirl" Pearlman it then possess her. Just as Hal and Carol knock Cowgirl out, the creators of the crystal The Zamaron's Queen and and two royal guards appear to reclaim the crystal and the two females, Hal quickly then fools the crystal in possessing the Queen by kissing her which makes it think he loves her now, the Zamarons teleport away to remove it from their Queen. This incident show the Zamarons that the crystal is too uncontrollable, so then form it in to a central battery, and create rings to start a Star Sapphire Corps.

So this story ties up the One Year Later story and also shows the begin of the Sinestro Corps and Star Sapphire Corps. Nothing too cool happens in this, but a quick page of Batman first being chosen by the Sinestro Corps ring before he takes it off was sweet. All this sets up the next story of the Sinestro Corps War and the emerging of the multiple colored Lantern corps.

DVD Sets I'm Still Waiting For

I love watching whole seasons of old TV series from my past, I have many in my collection and many on a wish list, but there are some TV series I am still waiting to be made available on DVD. Here is my top 5 I am absolutely dying to get one day.

 Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994-1998)
This the only 90's Marvel cartoon other the Incredible Hulk that has not been fully and proper released on DVD. Disney currently has the rights, I was happy when they finally released the 90's X-Men series, so where in the hell is my complete series or season sets? My guess, fricking Disney is gonna what till the new Amazing Spider-Man movie is close to coming out in theaters, then put them out to have more Spidey merchandise to sell all at the same time.

Seven Days (1998-2001)
This is a great TV series I watched on UPN along with Star Trek: Voyager. Cool sci-fi premise of being able to travel back in time seven days to prevent a disaster, assassination, epidemic, ect., and you know I love anything with Time Travel.

Batman 1960's (1966-1968)
Why is this series not on DVD, we have the theatrical movie, but not the 120 episodes on infamous tv series. Millions of people would buy them right now this instant, I see no reason why is not released yet, all companies involved would make tons of money on it.

Actual cover of VHS I have
The Adventures of Batman (1968)
Ah, this was my first animated Batman, no I am not that old, I was born in '84, but I have a VHS with 5 episode on it I've watched hundreds of times over and over again. It's only 34 short episodes, half being 12 minutes, and half being 6 minutes, so only about 300 minutes of classics Bat-Animation that demands to be on DVD. Check out my favorite episode from the tape, How Many Herring In A Wheelbarrow?

The Burning Zone (1996-1997)
Ok, so maybe not alot of people watched this one or even ever heard of it, but I enjoyed it. It was basically X-Files but with diseases, you could even say it was kinda proto-House, M.D. I haven't seen any episodes since their original airing, so I have a real "Burning" to watch this again.

Street Fighter X Tekken Videos

Oh yeah, finally some new Street Fighter X Tekken videos. Damn that cinematic trailer is awesome, hopefully they'll make a few more like they did with Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Though I am still patiently wait for some pics and videos from Namco's Tekken X Street Fighter, I can't wait to see Ryu and the other Street Fighters in highly detailed Tekken graphics.

I admit I am not very good at Street Fighter's fighting dynamic, but I believe myself pretty decent at the Tekken games, of which I own all but one of them. So I am looking forward to this game, but I am definitely looking to the Tekken version more. Also released today was also a video showing off actual gameplay and a few of the characters that will be in the game.

On a side note, this afternoon I started my latest (non)Gundam model kit Zaku IIF2. So far I finished he's torso, will update with pics as I go.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer

Third person squad base shooters aren't exactly my kind of games, but RE:ORC is a pure fricking nostalgia revisit for me. The original Resident Evil, 2, and 3 are not only my three favorite PS1 games but also my top three favorite video games of all time. Just seeing Leon's entrance to Raccoon City in new graphics just floods back all the memories of late nights playing RE2 for the first time, did I mention Leon S. "2nd most badass charcter in RE" Kennedy is the game? Can't wait to face the "Mr. X" Tyrants from RE2 again, OMG I crapped my pants one time when you put him down, you walk out of the room and then he crashes through the wall when you round the corner, hope the do that again.

Super 8 / Summer Movies

OK, so at first I didn't want to see this movie at all, from the way it was described and it being directed by J.J. Abrams I thought it was going to be a sequel/prequel to Cloverfield or nearly like it with the entire film being from the point of view of a camera. For the record, I HATED Cloverfield, it is on my list of most hated movie of all time I will never never ever watch ever again, and believe me it's a very short list, I have never felt so robbed of a movie experience then by that flop of movie making. Now I got nothing against J.J. Abrams, but I have to say he's only work that I like and by like I mean freaking love to death, is the new Star Trek movie, which he made perfectly awesome, and can not wait for the next Trek movie which I hope he again directs or at less still has he's hands in producing.

So I finally decided to watch the trailer for Super 8 to see if was going to as horrible as I had imagined, but instead I found no "Camera POV" shots anywhere and I do have to say I was quite impressed with what I saw. The story, character, and visual effect all like something I would enjoy watching at the theater and then later buying on Blu-Ray, now I can't wait to see it. Also yesterday I added a list of all the movies I am looking forward to seeing this summer to the side bar, and man does it look like I'll going to the movies alot over those three months.

The Last Days of Krypton Review

So I've had this book for well over a year now, I slowly read it on and off again a couple chapters at a time, now I've finally finished it, and man was it good. As the title implies the story is the events that leads up to the planet Krypton inevitable destruction, in which we meet Jor-El, Krypton's greatest scientist, talented artist Lara, Jor-El's brother Zor-El, also a brilliant scientist, and he's wife Alura. Then there is Commissioner Zod, head of Technology Acceptance who continually rejects Jor-El's new inventions and deems them as dangerous, but secretly keeps them for himself, Zod's consort and lover Aethyr, and their non-speaking brute enforcer Nam-Ek.

After evidence of the planet's pending destruction, and a devastating alien attack Jor-El and Zod must work together to save the planet and strengthen Krypton's people after such tragedy. Jor-El sees this opportunity to save Krypton, and to get he's other ideas and inventions recognized as tools to help he's world and he's people. While Zod sees this as he's opportunity to final seize power that he believes is he's by birthright.

This book reveals many things, how Jor-El and Lara met, fell in love, and got married, Zod's rise to power, and decent in to madness, a surprising appearance of a another future Superman villain, and origins of the Fortress of Solitude, and the Phantom Zone. The only thing I felt was missing was Kara, the future Supergirl, daughter of Zor-El and Alura, she should of been a teenager or at least a young girl around this time as in most other stories, but was strangely absent here. I highly recommended this book to any Superman fan, it is a great read and is a fantastically well written tale not told any where else before.

Pic of the Day 04/06

It's true, it's so true. Hair combed to one side plus glasses, versus hair combed to other side plus spit-curl minus glasses, yeah best disguise ever. Still it's better than He-Man's, Prince Adam in purple clothes or Prince Adam in harness and loincloth, NO OTHER DIFFERENCE, NOT EVEN HE'S HAIR AND NOBODY REALIZE THEY'RE THE SAME PERSON!

New Thundercats

Just click the new Thundercats logo above to see the new footage. Sorry, Youtube won't share this video for some reason, or find a embed HTML.

I have to say I am  interested in seeing this show, I watched and love the original, and even had the light-up Sword of Omens as a kid so I'm willing to give it a chance. I mean I've watched every episode of the new G.I. Joe: Renegades series, and trust me it's not that great, but the new Thundercats series look to be a little more entertaining. With a new cartoon coming, that means new toys for kids to beg their parents for, but alas there at at lease two things I'll be picking up to add to my collection for pure nostaliga:

8in. Lion-O from Bandai's Thundercats Classics collector line of the original 80's characters that going to accompany the children's 4in. and 6in. figure lines of the new animation designs.

...and of course the new extending light and sound Sword of Omens, so I can once again run around the house swinging the sword saying "Thunder!, Thunder!, Thunder!, THUNDERCATS HO!"

Green Lantern: Revenge of The Green Lanterns Review

Green Lantern: Revenge of The Green Lanterns (GL Vol.04 #7-13)
This book begins with a Mongul II, son of the mad alien that helped destroy Coast City, comes to conquer Earth with a multiplying crop of Black Mercy plants, that when attached to someone makes a person live out their vision of a perfect life in their heads. While visiting Hal in Coast City Green Arrow joins him to take down Mongul, and in the course of the battle both each get trapped in a Black Mercy. Hal lives a life where he's father never died, and as a Green Lantern never became Parallax, and was still friends with Sinestro, while Ollie get the stable family life he's always wanted married to Sandra Hawke and living and working with their son Conner Hawke, having a second son Robert, and expecting he's next child.

Hal, and Ollie realize their perfect lives can't be real, and escape the grasp of the Black Mercies, but not soon enough to stop Mongul from teleporting he's sister Mongal to Earth to settle who best follows their father's legacy. A quick fight end with the heroes teleporting the villains back to their homeworld of Debstam IV. Just in time for Hal to join he's brother and he's family for he's nephew's birthday.

The next story is the real highlight of the book for me with Hal teaming up with Batman to bring in The Tattooed Man, their first team-up since Hal has return from the dead and back as a hero. Batman testing Hal and gauging him to see if they can be friends and partners again is just an awesome dynamic, like Batman hitting Hal to get even for the hit Hal landed on him in Rebirth. After defeating the bad guy, Hal let's Batman put on he's Green Lantern ring to help him get over he's great fear of he's parent's death and put it behind him, as a Green Lantern he creates a image of he's parent smiling in front of him. Batman takes off the ring, and say he can't put that night behind him, not yet, then genuinely say he's glad that Hal is back.

AWESOME!
Then were off to the main story that jumps ahead one year to Hal and two of he's fellow pilots Rocket Man and Cowgirl receiving medals after escaping and surviving months in a P.O.W. camp, when suddenly a alien ship crashes right into to the ceremony. When Hal investigates he finds Tomar-Tu, a Green Lantern he thought he killed as Parallax years ago, he's ring's tracking log states he came from outside the patrolled sectors of the Green Lanterns, a place The Guardians call Sector 3601, last known retreat of the Manhunter androids. The Guardians deny Hal's request to go investigate the planet to see if there are more Lost Lanterns there that need to be rescued, so Hal disobeys them and brings Guy along, when they arrived they find Biot, the Manhunter homworld and planet sized factory mass producing more Manhunters.

Not only do they find seven thought long dead Green Lanterns in stasis, but also the Manhunter's new Grandmaster, Cyborg Superman, who has been using the Green Lanterns as slaves and subjects for experiments to make the Manhunters more powerful. While fighting Cyborg Superman, and uncountable amount of Manhunters, Hal must also prove to the recently awakened Lanterns that he is no longer their enemy, all while Guy is captured, and then discovers nineteen more unconscious Lanterns including he's one time love Arisia, who was buried on Earth years ago. Hal and Arisia, team up to tear apart Cyborg Superman, and they all team up to pull Guy out of a new bigger Highmaster Manhunter that uses a Green Lantern as a power source, which they then use themselves to blow up a Central Battery to escape with all but one Lantern that was killed by Cyborg Superman. The Lost Lanterns thank Hal for coming to their rescue, but the will never forget or forgive what he did as Parallax, while Guy takes the blame for Hal disobeying orders, and get assigned Prime Duty, which along with 49 other Lanterns keep on eye on Superboy-Prime's Science-Cell which orbit a miniature red sun.

Woo, so much for short reviews, there was a lot of stories in that one, but totally awesome stuff, like the return of Cyborg Superman, which is just phenomenal dialog and fighting between him and Hal. To me though the hands down must read of the book is Hal and Batman, Geoff Johns just knows how to perfectly write this guys.

Did I mention I freaking love cyborgs
Cyborg Superman: "Life is an endless cycle of betrayal and murder and pain. I ended that hideous thing called life for so many when I destroyed Coast City. You tried to kill me for it, but I forgive you Hal Jordan."

Green Lantern Wonder-Con Footage

I interrupt the Green Lantern review week to post a trailer of footage of the upcoming Green Lantern movie shown at Wonder-Con this week. Just click the picture, and choose the Wonder-Con Footage in HD.

The movie does look a little bit better in this footage, but I still don't feel Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. Tom Strong as Sinestro looks and sounds perfect. We get a little bit more of the over story and enemy in this footage, but there's still a full trailer coming in front of Thor in May that should show a little more tidbits.
