Maskless Captain America Posters

So today was revealed another Captain America theatrical poster, this being the third one so far and now also the third without he's mask on. What the hell? We get it, Chris Evans is Captain America, but why no masked posters? I would like to have a poster for every one of my favorite movies one day, and I hope to have a nice masked Cap poster to add that wishlist. I understand why Thor didn't wear a helmet in he's movie, but Cap needs he's mask.

New Captain America: The First Avenger Trailer

Oh yeah, I have high hopes for this movie, another trailer and odds are getting better and better it's gonna be great. I have faith Marvel Entertainment will deliver and the movie will rock cause they've already shown us they got their shit together and their heads on straight with Thor and X-Men: First Class. Plus I doubt Marvel would have a movie on par or worse then DC's lukewarm Green Lantern sizzle come out in the same summer, yes I went there.

Darth Vader Goes To Disneyland

Now that's a funny commercial. I loved Star Tours as kid, but haven't been to Disneyland in many years. I am glad to see it's still a major attraction, and has now updated with so every ride is unique with a constant rotation of multiple places to go.

Green Lantern Movie Review

I enjoyed this movie, was it a perfect adaptation from page to screen?, no, but I can understand why it was made the way it was. You have to look at the movie this way, not only is this an origin movie of Hal Jordan becoming a Green Lantern but is also the very first ever Green Lantern movie, and that Green Lantern is not an as world widely known superhero like Batman and Superman so they had to take the utmost basics of the characters and universe to make a simplified easier to absorb story to introduce Green Lantern to such a large mainstream non-comic reader audiences. I give this movie 6 out of 10 Power Rings, it was entertaining for the most part, and stayed true a lot the mythology.

I took off points for things like the length, at 1 hour and 45 minutes it's a very quick movie jumping from one plot point to the next. As to the story I feel they could of stayed on Oa and showed more of Hal's training and introduced a couple more talking alien Green Lanterns, and at the end a small group of Lanterns arriving to help Hal would of been cool and would of shown that Lanterns help their own and add that something extra that would made the final battle even better. I also think the writers and producers wasted the potential for great easter eggs for the comic fans in this film, just little morsels here and there like names drops of John Stewart and Guy Gardner or perhaps a drive past Hand Mortuary, but no all we got was Carol's callsign was Sapphire, a wink to her comic book villain persona.

One thing I felt was too simplified and rushed was Sinestro's obsession with fear, one minute he's lecturing Hal of the greatness of the Green Lantern Corps and next he's demanding The Guardian convert the Corps to be powered by Fear instead of Will to fight Parallax with only a single battle with the creature to weakly reason it, but that aside Mark Strong was damn perfect as Sinestro, the best character translated to the screen. Since this movie was aimed for appeal to also non-comic readers Ryan Reynolds's take on Hal Jordan was not bad and to be expected for easier mass appeal, but I personally would of liked Ryan to be a little more serious and less comedic quips. I really liked this movie, it may not have pleased many fans but I can understand the method to their aesthetics, so I'm hoping this movie does really well financially and get decent to well liked reviews so we can get the longer, more darker, and more action packed sequel soon.

Uncanny X-Men Renumbering

Press Release from Marvel:
"New York-June 16, 2011-Marvel is pleased to announce X-Men: ReGenesis, a bold new direction redefining the X-Men franchise! X-Men: ReGenesis kicks off this fall in Uncanny X-Men #1 & Wolverine and the X-Men #1 and its ramifications will send shockwaves throughout every X-Book and the Marvel Universe! Prepare for the X-Men's new dawn as former allies head off in different directions, taking with them your favorite X-Men characters. Following the unforgettable outcome in X-Men: Schism, mutantkind will be asking one another "Who will you follow?" and their answers may surprise you! Never before have there been TWO teams calling themselves the X-Men and never has anyone had to choose a side. Guided by their different ideologies, each leader has their own mission for saving their species, but is only one of them right?

This October, Marvel Architect Jason Aaron and superstar artist Chris Bachalo launch Wolverine And The X-Men #1, assembling a team led by Logan himself with a line-up that nobody will see coming. Then, in November, history is made with Uncanny X-Men #1. From the superstar writer Kieron Gillen and artists Carlos Pacheco & Greg Land, new leadership rises with a renewed, refocused, and re-imagined group of Uncanny mutants.

"Years of X-Men history have been leading to this. X-Men: ReGenesis will affect our entire line leading up to a major conflict coming up in 2012!" said Marvel Editor in Chief, Axel Alonso. "This is just the start of what we have planned for the X-Men. Next summer all eyes will be on mutantkind – we guarantee it!"

Two new teams lead mutantkind into an all new era and will have everyone asking "Who will you follow?" – only in Wolverine & The X-Men #1 and Uncanny X-Men #1!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ow, my head. What the hell Marvel, your canceling Uncanny X-Men after 544 issues and 49 years just to replace it with Uncanny X-Men as a new #1, why? I understand after Schism the X-Men are dividing into two separate camps and new titles are in order but you don't cancel a title just to put a new #1 out with the same title. You could of just continued the numbering along with the release of Wolverine and The X-Men #1, which is not a great title by for an X-Men comic by the way, doesn't Wolverine have and had enough of titles with he's name in it.

Did Marvel in 1991 cancel and renumber or replace Uncanny X-Men when X-Men (Vol.02) came out? No, Uncanny focused on the Gold team and and Vol.02 focused on the Blue team with out missing a beat. If you were really serious about retiring the Uncanny X-Men title you would of replaced it with a completely new title with a new word before of after X-Men like; Astounding X-Men or X-Men: Utopia. Also "Wolverine and The X-Men"?, you had to lift a title from a failed animated series, you couldn't come up with something on your own like X-Men: Renegades or X-Men: Defiant, come on your spose to be the House of Ideas.

As a long time X-Fan and comic book collector I'm disappointed in you Marvel cause we both know you love your legacy titles with triple digit numbers that's why you changed Thor into Journey Into Mystery to make it over 600 and that when the time comes in two years you'll move Uncanny X-Men back to it's original numbering to make it #600. I thought you would of learned for all the negative feedback DC is currently facing cause of their recent restart marketing ploy. With Amazing Spider-Man currently at #664 nearing #700 in about two years, and Journey Into Mystery currently at #624 being the only two longest going numbering still printing I'd thought it be apparent to keep other big numbers on the racks to show the legacy of such great titles.

Tekken: Blood Vengeance

An CGI Tekken movie? I never dreamt of the possibility. Do I dare say Final Fantasy: Advent Children may now have a contender for CGI awesomeness. As a huge Tekken fan I am completely blown away by this trailer and now impatiently wait 'til July 26th for this blu-ray to come and kick my eyes. Not sure if the Tekken Hybrid disc is the only way to get the movie, bur Tekken Tag Tournament HD looks to be a great additional bonus and place holder 'til whenever Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is decided to be released.

Five More From E3

In addition to the Star Trek trailer I posted yesterday here are five more trailers from E3 that are boons from Gaming Heaven.

Oh yes, my #1 absolute above all other games in 2012. Did you see that? Holo-knife sank, woah! Truly the best completely original new game trilogy.

I love Soul Calibur, not just for the awesome weapon based fighting, but also the ability to create completely custom characters and the joy of making them. Your looking at the guy who has all fifty custom slots filled on Soul Cailbur IV from comic book characters to anime, to even 80's cartoons, and still to this day keeps on making new ones. So short story, I am stoked for Soul Calibur V.

I don't own a 3DS yet but I am gonna try my best to have one by the time this comes out. If you haven't noticed yet on this blog I am a Resident Evil fanatic/whore, I must play this game. Hell it looks 10 times better then Operation Raccoon City, but I get to that in a bit.

Man you got to love these Old Republic cinematic trailers, every one of them is better then the entire prequel trilogy. Hell, these three trailers stretched in to full length movies would be epic, but would best be shown backwards like these trailers with Darth Malgus attacking Coruscant first, then years ago ravaging Alderaan, and lastly even further back with the retaking of Korriban. Still not 100% sure I'm even going to play this on my computer or PS3 but damn these trailers are cool.

A new X-Men game, so as a long time X-fan this peaks my interest. Can't decided if I like any of the three characters you can be, but I do like the idea of fighting beside the X-Men, and Magneto taunting you to join him.

I'd also like to give my thoughts on a few other trailers I've watched, and weren't as impressed with. These trailers I have provided links for to watch.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccon City: Did not like this trailer or any of the actual gameplay footage. Just doesn't look, sound, or play like a Survival Horror game to me. I know this game was made by the people that make the SOCOM games, but that's what it looks like, SOCOM with zombies. I sorry other then RE in the title and the joy of seeing Leon and Claire in new graphics it's really not holding anything else for me.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: Hmm, first where is news and new trailers for Versus XII? Hope it hasn't been canceled. Second, I don't know how I should feel about this game, XIII was my first Final Fantasy and I haven't even finished it yet. A sequel without any of it's original main characters seems like a strange move to me, so I'm kind of neutral in acceptance of it, will wait and see.

Lord of The Rings: War In The North: I love the LotR movies, so a new story with a new enemy happening at the same time as the War of The Ring, I am interested. What's not making me total psyched on getting this game is the combat and gameplay aspect, I have had poor experiences with games like Dragon Age, so this might be a rent first or wait for reviews.

DMC: Arg, just that title makes me sick to death of hearing of the continued existence of this game, and this trailer just comes ask a kick to the nuts of the Devil May Cry fans, he's hair will turn white when he uses he's demon powers. Never have I ever wanted a representative of a company to be around to punch in the damn face. I do not care if the story of this game does turn out to be demons have taken over the world and are making Dante not look like himself and think he's crazy, the character design is just horrible. Capcom has lose their minds allowing this redesign, shame on you Capcom, shame on you.

New Star Trek Video Game!

Well holy crap, I'd never thought I'd see the day, an actual awesome looking Star Trek video game. A third person shooter heavy on the action and wide word exploring based on the new Star Trek universe sign me the hell up. This looks great, I'm hoping they get the actual actor to voice the characters cause hearing Nu-Kirk and Nu-Spock banter back and forth will make this game a definite must own for me and any Star Trek fan.

X-Men: First Class Review

SPOILERS!SPOILERS!SPOILERS!
Now that's what I call a X-Men movie. A great great take on the origins of Professor X and Magneto, this movie had everything blue and yellow costumes, actual SR-71 Blackbird jet, Charles training he's students just everything you could ask for translated from comic to screen, hell even a quick cameo of freaking Wolverine. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender portray young Charles and Erik perfectly, it's amazing seeing 30 year old Charles using theories of evolution and mutation to pick up chicks then seeing a brutal Erik torturing and killing on he's hunt for Sebastian Shaw. The story was great, it nicely sets up everyone meeting each other, discovering the enemies plans, and then on to the final battle and separation.

Now I would call this a perfect movie, but alot of others would not agree, first this movie is set up as prequel to the X-Men trilogy and alot of what happen in the film actually does perfectly set up things for the trilogy but then there are inconsistencies that blew obvious connections out of the water like Charles and Erik only knowing each other for a couple weeks instead of years along with Charles being paralyzed at the end of this movie makes it not fit with the flashback at the beginning of X3 were Charles was still walking and still friends with Erik making this more of a reboot instead of a pure prequel. Other inconsistencies are Hank makes a early Cerebro, not Charles and Erik, and Erik get's he's telepathy blocking helmet in this film but was previous unheard of in X1. Then some fanboys might complain about the increase and change in powers and origin of Sebastian Shaw, and as a  20+ year fan of X-Men I didn't mind the changes it helped make a great story, my only real gripe would be I didn't like Magneto's costume at the end it look quickly thrown together for that scene and not as good as it could of been if actually designed and tested before time.

I don't mind this movie restarting the X-Men movie franchise, even though it's a period piece I definitely would love more movies off this one hopefully making a new trilogy. I give X-Men: First Class 10 out of 10 X-Genes. If a "Second Class" film is made I would love to see more mutants join Beast, Havok, and Banshee, and of course some never been on screen before villains like maybe Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch as teenage children of Magneto he didn't know he had.

Two Very Funny Videos

This first video I declare the funniest video on the internet ever. This video just perfectly shows exactly what most of the DC comic fans feel and are thinking about DC news of line-wide number 1 restarts.

This second one is another hilarious video that expresses in a unique way Star Wars fans feeling towards the prequel trilogy. A conspiracy I can fully get behind. If this actually came out as an independent film I'd buy the DVD.

I would like to thank one of my favorite, and most informative, and most visited websites Comicsalliance for bringing these videos to my attention.

Green Lantern: Rage of The Red Lanterns Review (Part 2)

On Ysmault under the surface of a lake of blood a red power ring forms, and Atrocitus puts it on, it stops he's heart and as he surfaces he's body starts to expel he's blood and replace it with liquid fire as a power battery rises out of the lake, Atrocitus takes hold of it and charges he's ring while saying he's oath and generating a new uniform. On Earth, in Coast City Hal is having lunch with Cowgirl and he's brother when John contacts him and tells him the Guardians have scheduled Sinestro's execution, it's to take place on Korugar he's home world, and they're to escort him there. The Guardian Scar secretly communicates with Green Lantern Ash whom she sent to locate the body of The Ant-Monitor and is now on it's trail, as Hal arrives on Oa to ask Sinestro a question, but Sinestro ask to ask him one first, he ask if Hal thinks killing him is right, to which Hal says it's what he deserves, it's punishment to which Sinestro responds he's proud of Hal.

Back on Ysmault Atrocitus gathers he's Red Lanterns to get he's revenge on Sinestro, as The Controllers set off to the Vega System to obtain the Orange Light. On route to Korugar Sinestro's Sciencell escorted by Hal, John, Kilowog, Saalak, three Alpha Lanterns, and five other Green Lanterns comes under by attack by the Sinestro Corps to free their leader, but Atrocitus and he's Red Lanterns starting attacking both to try to get to Sinestro. Laira attacks Hal with a blast of fire setting Hal aflame which starts burning through he's personal shield and he's uniform until he start's hearing he's ring beginning to charge well over 100% and he's wounds heal thanks to Blue Lantern Saint Walker.

The Red Lanterns bring Sinestro back to Ysmault where he is crucified, Atrocitus has to fight off Laira and the other Red Lanterns from ripping him apart saying Sinestro will live until all of he's blood is drained into he's ring. Sinestro says has no fear of pain or death, and says he's Lanterns of rage are uncontrollable and will be easily defeated in the coming War of Light. Meanwhile Hal questions Saint Walker, who says he was sent to protect Sinestro saying he will be needed during the Blackest Night and that he's ring is being charged to full capacity cause of he's emotional aura and he's hope for he's well being.

Saint Walker's ring puts out the flames of rage of the other Green Lanterns, then grabs Hal and flies him to the Blue Lantern homeworld of Odym where Ganthet and Sayd are inducting their second Blue Lantern Warth. Ganthet tells Hal to trust him that Sinestro is important to future events and to take the two Blue Lanterns and rescue Sinestro. On the planet Zamaron, former Sinestro Corps memeber Fatality is finished being transformed in to a Star Sapphire and tells her ring to locate John Stewart.

On the way to Ysmault Hal's ring tell's him the star they are passing is about to go Super Nova and evacuation of that system's inhabited planet will be need to save lives, but Hal can't call for back up to help him cause the Blue Lantern's rings are causing interference. The Blue Lanterns use their emotional aura and the hopes of the planet's inhabitants to turn the star blue and young again, which amazes Hal, to which Saint Walker says he still has much to learn of their powers and rings since he is to be the captain of the Blue Lanterns. On Ysmault Atrocitus tells Sinestro he will find something he does fear, and rips open a captured Sinestro Corp member as a blood ritual which reveals Sinestro has a daughter.

Hal makes a jet construct to get away from the Blue Lanterns and get to Ysmault first before them cause he want to return Sinestro to Oa. Hal scans the planet with he's ring, that's say the only lifeform detected is the crucified Sinestro, Hal lands in front of Sinestro who tries to warn Hal it's a trap but it's too late as the Red Lanterns fly out of the pond of blood and with their burning touch severely drain he power ring. Hal gets tied up, and Atrocitus tells him through he's blood rituals that he has seen he's past and has seen he will go renegade again, but he has held he Red Lantern's back to long and tell Laira she can kill Hal when the Sinestro Corps drops in to rescue their leader.

As Sinestro is about to put on he's Power Ring the two Blue Lanterns arrive and free Hal and in their presence he's ring is recharged, but is quickly attacked by Laira, as Hal is trying to talk to her and calms her down enough for her to ask for help as a blast from behind kills her, Sinestro tells Hal he's welcome for saving he's life. As Laira dies in he's arms Hal becomes enraged and tackles Sinestro and flies him to the top of the Red Lantern Central Battery creates an electric chair construct around Sinestro. While Saint Walker and Warth try to subdue Atrocitus who says he knows their secret weakness, as the enraged Hal is about to kill Sinestro a Red Power Ring flies on to he's left hand making him a Red Lantrern, he's electric chair construct now turned red Hal pulls the switch electrocuting Sinestro.

On Earth Carol calls Hal's phone and is surprised Cowgirl answers, and says Hal hasn't return to Earth yet, while back on Ysmault Hal has begun attacking he's Blue Lantern allies who are still fighting Atrocitus that's telling Saint Walker he knows a Blue Lantern is powerless without a Green Lantern's will in the vicinity, and with Hal's ring inactive so is he's. Saint Walker says he's ring may be useless but he is not as he jumps over Atrocitus and touches he's ring to the red ring on Hal's hand changing it to a Blue Power Ring which purges Hal of the red rings infection and restart he's heart and blood production and makes him a half Green Lantern half Blue Lantern as well as deactivating Sinestro's execution allowing him to escape. Sinestro arrives on Qward to recharge he's ring at the Yellow Central Battery just to leave again to head to Korugar to deal with a family matter, and on the planet Okaara The Controllers easily defeat any Okaaran Warriors in their way as they get closer to the source of The Orange Light, while back on Earth Carol takes Hal's father's fighter plane for a flight when a Star Sapphire ring breaks in to the cockpit.

Another great read that adds more enemies to the Green Lantern Corps but also a corps of allies but another corps of enemies looks to appear soon. Again I love every scene with Hal and Sinestro together, enemies that were once close friends makes a great dynamic. The Blue Lanterns is an odd corps being they're only at the best around a Green Lantern and are only a plus to overcharging Green Lanterns and putting out Red Lantern flames, so useful but the least helpful in a fight. Next review, who is Agent Orange? and what emotion is The Orange Light?

Batman & Colonial Marines Trailers

So with this trailer it solidifies the fact that Catwoman is gonna be playable at points during the came, sweet. Her fighting style and weapons look perfect, and it looks like Two-Face is gonna be a major force to deal with along with Hugo Strange, Joker, Riddler, and Penguin. Arkham City is really looking to be awesome evolution of it predecessor.

First revealed early last year Alien: Colonial Marines is a squad-based first-person shooter that's story takes place after the events of the '86 film Aliens. A four man search & rescue team is sent in to investigate the deserted U.S.S. Sulaco which will lead them to the planet LV-426 and the devastated colony of Hadley's Hope. As a huge fan of the Alien films this looks to be the Aliens game we have been waiting, and can not wait to play this game and hear the authentic sounds of the M41-A Pulse rifle, Smart Guns, and motion detector while staying frosty for the damn bugs.

DC Universe Classics Series 19

This is a first, a exclusive news release of a new series of action figures on a MTV website MTV Geek!. I'm digging this series, I'm psyched it has two figures off my DCUC wish list I posted previously, Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E.. The only figure I not excited to see is the classic Hawkman who is just a repaint with a new head, a spot I feel should of been filled by the Golden Age Justice Society of America Flash Jay Garrick.

I am blown away to see a Magog figure in DC Universe classics, I'd never thought I'd ever see him, so he'll definitely be a must find for me. A few questions: Why is Stargirl's staff translucent? I guess to seem glowing with energy. Why can't the Lord Naga figure be called Korba like he should be? Hasbro own the rights to the word Cobra in any spelling perhaps. Is S.T.R.I.P.E.'s helmet removable or flip up to reveal Pat Dugan? We'll see.

Lord Naga (Korba)
